Pirate Bay termed as deceptive site by Google Chrome, blocked by Firefox and Safari as well

10 Interesting Facts About The Pirate Bay

Users of torrent site Pirate Bay are reporting that popular internet browsers Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Safari are blocking the site. A malware warning seems to be appearing when users try to access the site similar to the one that appeared for Kickass Torrents last month as well as in October 2015.

While Google Chrome seems to be giving a deceptive warning for the site due to the new Google Safe Browsing policy, Firefox users are being told: "This web page at thepiratebay.se has been reported as a web forgery and has been blocked based on your security preferences." Some Safari users are also reporting the same phenomenon.

More from IBTimes UK

Generally, a warning like this would appear when an ad network is compromised and malicious ads start popping up. A diagnostic report (at the the time of reporting) on the problem reads: "Thepiratebay.se contains deceptive content. Don"t panic. Users sometimes post bad content on websites that are normally safe. Safe Browsing will update the safety status once the web-master has cleaned up the bad content."

Google started the Safe Browsing service a couple of months ago restricting multiple ad sites to protect users from visiting malicious websites that contain malware. Generally, malvertising attempts use dubious JavaScript redirection tricks to scam users into clicking on pop-up links or ads that seem harmless but may lead to malicious sites.

Torrent sites are a major ground for malware injectors and it may be possible that the number of malicious ads may have been too high leading to such a problem. The Pirate Bay has yet not clarified its stand on the subject or given any reason for the problem.

Update: An update seems to have been made by Pirate Bay to fix the issues as now it seems the site has been cleared safe by Google. The Google transparency page however, shows that there were some safety issues as we have already reported.

Why did Cleveland Cavaliers forget LeBron James when things got tough? -- Terry Pluto (photos)

Toronto Raptors vs Cleveland Cavaliers - Game 2 - Full Highlights | May 19, 2016 | 2016 NBA Playoffs

TORONTO -- How much of LeBron James is enough?

You can sense Tyronn Lue wrestling with the question as he spoke to the media Sunday. The Cavs coach had looked at the tape of his team"s 99-84 loss to Toronto in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Before that game, the Cavs had rolled to 10 consecutive playoff victories. In most games, the ball was shared. Future Hall of Famer James was not even the leading scorer in the postseason. Kyrie Irving held that distinction.

But Saturday night, the Cavs offense was stalled, especially in the second half.

Irving was stuck in one of his old, destructive ruts. His answer to missing shots was to take even more shots -- many of them with a higher degree of difficulty than the ones he was missing.

And he also kept dribbling...

And dribbling...

And dribbling...

And Lue watched it all, reacting like a rookie head coach for perhaps the first time in this postseason.

Irving fired up 19 shots, making three.

That"s no misprint, it"s an embarrassing 3-of-19 from the field for 13 of the ugliest points in NBA playoff history.

That"s because Irving had only one assist.

POINT GUARD OR ATTACK GUARD?

Irving has the title of point guard, but he really should be called "the attack guard."

That"s because Lue has defined Irving"s role as take the ball and attack the defense. Sprint up the court in a straight line to the rim, dare the defense to stop you.

From the moment he replaced David Blatt as head coach, Lue pushed and pleaded with the Cavs to play at a faster pace. Irving could be the leader.

"No one can stop him 1-on-1," Lue said the other day.

He was talking about Irving in fast-break situations, driving to rim.

But the reason for having Irving as the attack guard is to stop some of what we watched Saturday: the excessive dribbling that led to four of his teammates standing and watching.

That was some of the old Irving, the Irving that makes his teammates worse instead of better.

MUST BE DECISIVE

Lue is the coach. He should have called a timeout, then called plays for James to be the trigger man with the ball.

"I should have put the ball in LeBron"s hands a little more and let him create,"Lue told the media. "So that was more on me."

Good for the 39-year-old coach. Admitting mistakes will help his players respect him, something they do already.

If the Cavs have a point man, it"s James. He leads the team in assists. He is one of the greatest passers in NBA history.

In Lue"s offense, he has been more active -- either driving to the rim or passing the ball rather than aimlessly dribbling as the 24-second clock ticks down.

James took one shot in the fourth quarter.

That"s right, just one. He missed it. He had two points on two free throws.

Overall, James had a good game, 24 points on 9-of-17 shooting. He led the Cavs with eight rebounds and five assists.

Along with J.R. Smith (22 points, 7-of-16 shooting), James was the only one who consistently made a positive impact on the offense.

Kevin Love and Irving shot a combined 4-of-28 for 16 points.

ABOUT BALL MOVEMENT

In the playoffs, the Cavs have passed the ball better than at any point in the regular season. That"s why there have been so many open 3-point shots.

They came into Saturday night having scored at least 100 points in every playoff game.

But those long jumpers were clanging off the rim for most players in Saturday"s loss.

And Irving was doubling-down on his dribble/dance moves.

That"s how the Cavs scored only 84 points for the night, hitting bottom with a 14-point fourth quarter.

James was not part of what was happening in the fourth quarter.

"I have to do a better job of putting them in positions to isolate and be productive," admitted Lue.

He meant that when James has the ball in the low post, he either scores or draws multiple defenders. When the defense swarms him, he passes to teammates for open shots.

"With Kyrie kind of setting the offense ... the ball has kind of been taken out of my hands a little bit," said James. "I"m OK with that. But there is a point in time where some of the guys are not going (scoring). Maybe let me see if I can get it going."

It sounded as if Lue and James had already talked about this before they faced the media.

The Cavs have a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series with Game 4 tonight. Let"s watch to see how they handle the ball on offense -- who has it.

Lue wisely has worked for the Cavs not to be overly dependent on James, but they can"t have any more games where they ignore him in crucial situations as they did Saturday night.

How did three different Game of Thrones fans predict that Hodor surprise?

What Hodor"s Big Reveal Means for Game of Thrones! (Nerdist News w/ Jessica Chobot)

If you haven"t seen last night"s episode of Game of Thrones yet, I suggest closing this tab and putting all of your devices on airplane mode and avoiding human interaction until you have the opportunity to do so.

Are you gone?

Okay, great. The lovable, perfect Hodor, who dedicated the last several years of his life to carrying known-brat Bran Stark around on his back and listening to Meera Reed spout off about how much she hates Bran (valid) and just wants some eggs (same), is now deceased. The mystery of Hodor is deceased as well, as all has been revealed.

did you predict this? if so, can science study your brain?

Here is seriously the most simple way I can think to recap what transpired in about two minutes of a very popular cable television program last night: as far as Bran or the audience knew, Hodor has always had some kind of very specific (and presumably rare!) medical condition that renders him incapable of saying any words other than "Hodor" (ostensibly his name), despite being totally able to understand English. Recently it was revealed, via an enlightening vision of the past that Bran had, that Hodor was not always Hodor (not his name!), and actually used to be Wyllis, a child who could say lots of words. This week, Bran messes up everyone"s lives by accidentally summoning the Night"s King and an army of the undead to the tree cave where he has been learning how to have enlightening visions. Bloodraven, a tree-man who knows visions, makes Bran go into another vision even while death is at the door so that he can witness Hodor"s young self having some kind of fit and yelling, "Hold the door! Hold the door!" which slowly devolves into yelling, "Hodor! Hodor!" Young Hodor is doing that because Old Hodor is currently being possessed by Bran (who is simultaneously in the past, staring at Young Hodor, and in the present, being asleep on a sled), and Meera is yelling "Hold the door" repeatedly, because behind the door is that zombie horde I mentioned. Old Hodor holds the door, of course, and dies of course, but at least now we know that this zombie dragon universe also involves time travel.

If you told me you had predicted this turn of events, I would slam the door in your face!

However, at least three different individuals seem to have predicted some of what happened on Game of Thrones last night years in advance. I have no explanation for this, other than the human brain is a beautiful mystery. Much like Hodor"s human brain was (RIP).

A commenter in the forums of popular A Song of Ice and Fire / Game of Thrones fan site Westeros.orgpredicted that "Hodor" came from "hold the door" in 2008:

"The poor guy is just asking someone to hold the door for him, since he"s always carrying someone else around. After a while, "Hold the door" became "Hold the doorHold the doorHoldoorHodoor. Dammit! Hold the door!" His mind finally snapped, and now all he can say is Hodor."

Novelist Michael Ventrella told a storyon his personal blog in April 2014 about meeting George R. R. Martin at a convention in the fall of 2013 and sharing a not-very-funny joke about being an elevator operator as a fallback career. According to Ventrella, the conversation continued with this exchange:

Ventrella: I was thinking about your comment about wanting to be an elevator operator. It"s clear to me now that "Hodor" is short for "Hold the door."

Martin: (laughing) You don"t know how close to the truth you are!

I"m not sure why this story would have been faked, but it smells funky to me based on how little those lines I just quoted look like sentences two human beings would ever say to each other.

And perhaps most chilling, a commenter on theA Song of Ice and Fire subredditposited a theory two years ago that bears a striking resemblance to the events of last evening (despite also being super wrong and more than a little dumb):

"Hodor is actually Aegon Targaryen. Basically, when Gregor is coming for Elia and the babies she (Elia) yells for the guards to "HOLD THE DOOR!" as Gregor gets ever closer she gets so frantic it becomes "HOLD DOOR!" then "HOLDOOR!" before finally the last thing Aegon/Hodor hears before his head was dashed against the wall, causing serious brain damage and trauma was "HODOR!""

Just goes to show: if you think hard enough about an extremely long series of books you will eventually almost guess a very odd plot point but not quite.

It"s Finally Blake Shelton"s Turn to Talk About Gwen Stefani: How He"s Faring in the Relationship Dissection Department

Gwen Stefani - Used To Love You

Disney Channel/Image Group LA

We wouldn"t exactly call Blake Shelton comfortable in the hot seat, but he at least doesn"t seem to be melting under pressure.

For the last several, five, six...wow, seven months now, since he and Gwen Stefani went public as a couple, it"s been Gwen who"s had to field the majority of the questions about what"s going on with them since day one.

And though it was really the people asking the questions who filled in a lot of the blanks early on"This is what I"ll say about that: I never said nothin" about being in a new relationship," she saidway back in November in a radio interviewGwen is primarily the one who gauged what to say and when.

Because she"s the one who had the major projecther first solo album in 10 yearsto promote.

But now it"s Blake who"s on the publicity circuit, with his new album and a role in Angry Birds, so we finally get to hear from him. And we"re all ears...

He admitted on Today Thursday, after Savannah Guthrie was the one to point out all the "musical chemistry" and "chemistry-chemistry" between them, that the constant attention that he and Gwen attract is "a little weird" for him.

"We could not be, on paper, any more different. I mean, I"m a country singer and she"s a ska, rock, pop, whatever it is...and it"s just an odd idea," he said. "But man, it"s a lot of fun. I"ve gotta be honest about that."

And like Gwen, whose lead single offThis Is What the Truth Feels Like was the heartbreaking "Used to Love You," obviously inspired by real-life events, Blakeis serving up a bigger slice of his own life than usual with his 10th studio album,If I"m Honest (which came out today).

"I figure since everybody else is cashing in on my life, I might as well too," he added, "so that"s what the record is."

Also just like Gwen, he called the response to their first songwriting collaboration, "Go Ahead and Break My Heart," just "crazy."

"I actually wrote that song, started it just to try to impress her, to be honest with you," Blake said on Today. "And I sent it to her just half done...and she wrote the next verse and sent it back to me. And so it was like, oh, we"ve got a song together. That"s kind of cool."

Courtesy Getty Images for iHeartMedia

So now we know that the country artist wasn"t content to rest on his well-timed laurels.

Thank you, promo tour, for the info!

And on Friday"s episode of Live! With Kelly, he acknowledged it was "obvious" that his trendsetting significant other wasn"t rubbing off on him in the fashion department.

"And it"s probably so boring for her," Blake suggested. "Because, literally, you know I"m going to have gray hair every day, I"m going to wear blue jeans with boots."

Then he re-told the story about writing "Go Ahead and Break My Heart" to impress Gwen, that she wrote the other half and it was "crazy."

And then Kelly Ripa filled in the blank: "You"re like a match made in heaven!"

Blake also clarified their creative process: "We really don"t work together at all. That"s what"s crazy about writing that song, outside of just going in and recording our vocals...She"s Gwen Stefani. I"m a country singer, you know, we don"t really work together. It"s crazy that thing happened anyway."

In response to Kelly remarking that they at least had "crossover appeal" for each other, Blake added, not taking the bait, "She probably has a better chance crossing over to my world than I do going ska."

Ain"t that the d**n truth.

Blake relayed the "nuts" songwriting tale to Carson Daly on AMP Radio yesterday morning as well (and think of how many times Daly has heard that story!), as well as revealed he thought "Hey Baby" was a TLC song before he and Gwen started dating. "Of course I knew all those songs," he added, naming some major No Doubt tunes, "I just didn"t know it was No Doubt that sang them. Some songs are so big. I don"t care if you live in the jungle, you"re aware of [them]."

Case in point: Blake also guest-hosted an hour on Beats 1 as part of his whirlwind If I"m Honest press tour and, asked to share some of his favorite music, he revealed that Gwen"s "Sweet Escape" had always been one of his favoritesmost unwittingly!

"One day I was driving down the road," he said, "and this song came on and Gwen was in the car with me and the intro started and it was like, "What is this? I know this song, I love this song," and she said, "That"sthat"s my song." I thought that was so funny that literally we"re just starting to learn about what we do professionally. I thought I"d throw that in on the mix here."

Carson also asked the Oklahoma native yesterday if he felt any more comfortable living out in Los Angeles now than he did when he first started doing The Voice.

"Well, I got a girlfriend now," Blake replied. "There is that." Moreover, he"s driving more than he used to, as Carson pointed out.

Blake explained, "I don"t think it"s very manly to be like, "Oh, you want me to come over right now? OK, let me call a driver." It"s way better if I can just cruise up in my Nissan Altima."

Country or ska, no matter what"s going on behind closed doors, in L.A. or when Gwen makes the trip to Oklahoma with Blake, we"re guessing the main soundtrack of their relationship is a lot of laughter.

And perhaps because they"re buddies, even once driving all the way out to the Inland Empire to Bass Pro Shops to make Blake feel more at home in SoCal, Carson got a lot of good dish out of the artist.

"I think it was last fall, sometime at the beginning of the fall, I sat down one day and I started writing this song ["Go Ahead and Break My Heart"] because she and I wereeven though we were, you know, beginning this relationship, we"re having some trust issues with each other because of what we had been through, and you kinda get to a point where you"re like, "Man, am I really gonna do this again already," you know what I mean? But it is happening."

Cue the part about trying to impress her.

And we"ll be darned if "You Can"t Make This Up," also off of the new album, doesn"t tell the tale of two people who fell in love on The Voice.

"People would say I"m lying / If I tried to tell "em how we met tonight / They"d ask how many drinks I"d had / Cause ain"t no way it all went down that right / You waiting on somebody and they never did show / You were p****d off, leaving, came back cause you forgot your phone," Blake sings.

"There I was, yeah I just sat down in the seat you left / You walked up I said "what are you doing with your beautiful self?" / You rolled your eyes but you laughed and your song came on / I begged you for a dance and we danced / And it was on, eyes locked, clock stopped / One little kiss, no, we never meant to start falling in love / Oh man, you can"t make this up."

That, as someone might say, is "nuts." And since it"s a true story, it may as well be told in song.

"It"s not something anybody could"ve seen coming besides G*d, I guess, because it doesn"t look like it would make sense, you know," Blake acknowledged as much to CMT"s Katie Cook a few days ago. "All I can tell you is that it does. It just makes the most perfect sense for us and where we"re at in our lives. I tell people all the time, Gwen saved my life last year. She did, and I think she would probably tell you something similar about me."

And she has.

"Even the first season that Gwen was on the show, which was season seven I think [in fall 2014, when both were still married], I didn"t ever really get to know her that well," he recalled. "I mean, she was on the show, high five and "good to see ya," so even coming into the second season of The Voice when it started, I didn"t even really know her that well and it just all of a sudden," he shrugged, "this thing just happened because of the things that we were going through. Saved my life, period."

Coming full circle, the reason why we"re getting to hear Blake"s side of the story at all was once again front and center.

"There"s just been such a media craze around us being together so I think that"s why there"s been a lot of views on YouTube," Blake continued, referring to how excited people were by his duet with Gwen on The Voice (and happy times, they"ll be reliving the moment Sunday at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards). "I"m good with it because at least we"re able to now direct people, instead of it being about, you know, whatever our relationship isnow I can just go, "Yeah, we did a song together, y"all should go buy it and listen to it.""

And did you know that he started writing the song because he was trying to impress her?

Police Officer Is Acquitted of All Charges in Freddie Gray Case

Police Officer Cleared In Freddie Gray Case

BALTIMORE A police officer was acquitted of all charges on Monday in the arrest of Freddie Gray, a black man who sustained a fatal spinal cord injury while in police custody. The verdict is likely to renew debate over whether anyone will be held responsible for Mr. Grays death.

The officer, Edward M. Nero, sat with a straight back and stared forward as Circuit Judge Barry G. Williams, who ruled on the case after the officer opted to forgo a jury trial, read his verdict on the charges of second-degree assault, misconduct and of reckless endangerment.

The verdict on each count, said Judge Williams, concluding his reading after about 30 minutes, is not guilty.

The states theory has been one of recklessness and negligence, Judge Williams said. There has been no evidence that the defendant intended for a crime to occur.

Officer Nero, who was implicated not in the death of Mr. Gray but in the opening moments of his arrest, then stood and hugged his lawyers as supporters pressed forward to congratulate him. He wiped away tears and, at one point, embraced Officer Garrett E. Miller, who is also charged in connection with the arrest of Mr. Gray

Perhaps a dozen protesters gathered outside the courthouse in the moments after the verdict was rendered, and some chanted the familiar protest cry, No justice, no peace.

To see that officer walk away, and still no accountability, that hurts me the most, said the Rev. Westley West, a frequent presence at demonstrations related to Mr. Grays death. That could be me.

The verdict, the first in any of the six officers implicated, comes a little more than a year after Mr. Gray died in April 2015. The first trial, against Officer William G. Porter, ended with a mistrial in December. Mr. Grays death embroiled parts of Baltimore, which has a history of tension between the police and its residents, in violent protest and became an inexorable piece of the nations wrenching discussion of the use of force by officers, particularly against minorities.

Timeline

Five police officers await trial in the case of Freddie Gray, who died last year after being injured while in police custody, after one officer was acquitted.

Many demonstrators had felt vindicated last year when the citys top prosecutor, Marilyn J. Mosby, announced charges against the officers, but legal specialists have questioned whether they were too ambitious.

Peter Moskos, a former Baltimore police officer who teaches at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York, said that Ms. Mosby had overplayed her hand.

Charges were filed too quickly, he said, adding that prosecutors should have spent more time bolstering cases against one or two officers who may have been most culpable. Someone dying doesnt always make it a crime, Mr. Moskos said. The prosecutors are trying to find social justice, but these are trials of individual cops.

A lawyer for Officer Nero, Marc Zayon, called for the charges against the remaining officers to be dropped.

The States Attorney for Baltimore City rushed to charge him, as well as the other five officers, completely disregarding the facts of the case and the applicable law, Mr. Zayon said in a statement.

Like Officer Nero, Mr. Zayon added, these officers have done nothing wrong.

Concerned about reaction within the community, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, in a statement, asked residents to be patient as the legal process played out, but added that the city was prepared to respond to any disturbances.

The Police Department said in a statement Monday that the internal review of Officer Nero, 30, who remains on administrative leave, will not be resolved until after the trials of the other officers involved.

The trial had shifted the focus from the injuries that killed Mr. Gray, which was a crucial point in Officer Porters trial, to the opening moments of his arrest. It was never going to be the highest-profile prosecution in the case related to Mr. Gray; that will be Caesar R. Goodson Jr., the driver of the police wagon in which Mr. Gray is believed to have broken his neck. But, in a city that is already the subject of a federal civil rights investigation into whether officers use excessive force and discriminatory policing, Officer Neros trial renewed questions about when an officer can stop a private citizen and what an officer is allowed to do.

I would say the trial has engendered a wider conversation about how police operate in poor communities, particularly poor communities of color that raises critical issues about society, said David Jaros, a law professor at the University of Baltimore.

Photo Edward M. Nero, a Baltimore police officer who was involved in Freddie Grays arrest, arriving at the courthouse on Monday. Credit Patrick Semansky/Associated Press

Judge Williams focused his rulings on Officer Neros specific actions, Mr. Jaros said, rather commenting on the broad legal theory underpinning the prosecutions case.

Paul Butler, a former federal prosecutor and a law professor at Georgetown University Law Center, called the charges an unusual and possibly unprecedented attempt by a prosecutor to convict a police officer for making an arrest that lacked probable cause.

The attempt may have been fueled in part by public anger over the death of Mr. Gray. Mr. Butler said said such calculations were a normal part of prosecutors decision making before handing down indictments. That tactic was essentially negated, he said, when Officer Neros defense team opted for a bench trial.

Despite the acquittal, Tessa Hill-Aston, president of the Baltimore city branch of the NAACP, said she remained hopeful that someone would eventually be held responsible for Mr. Grays death.

Im thankful were even in court, that charges were brought, she said. But now weve got to come out with something.

The low man in the totem pole was found not guilty, but now were working our way up, Ms. Hill-Aston said.

A lawyer for the Gray family, William H. Murphy Jr., called Judge Williamss ruling an excellent opinion.

He did his job under very trying circumstances, Mr. Murphy said.

Mr. Murphy added: The family doesnt want to see a conviction or an acquittal. They want to see justice. So theyre not going to be frustrated regardless of how this turns out, and neither should the community.

Baltimore reached a $6.4 million settlement with Mr. Grays family in September.
