Mexico vs. Paraguay: Marquez ready to make the most of "great opportunity"

Mexico vs. Paraguay | International Friendly Highlights

Rafael Marquez is hoping Mexico can take advantage of the "great opportunity" ahead as El Tri step up preparations for the Copa America Centenario with a friendly versusParaguay.

Mexico is unbeaten in its last 17 games and will look to build momentum after receiving an invitationto the Copa America for the 10th straight tournament.

El Tri have reached the final in 1993 and 2001 and will be expected to progress from the group stage at the 100th anniversary tournament, having beendrawn alongside Uruguay, Venezuela and Jamaica in Group C.

Ahead of Saturday"s warm-up with 2011 runner-up Paraguay at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, captain Marquez believes Juan Carlos Osorio"s side has its best chance of winning the competition for the first time.

COPA AMERICA: Top 10 U-21 player to watch | Stars of each team | TV schedule

"We have a great opportunity [to win it], but we have to take it game by game," said Marquez, who has been capped 129 times by Mexico. "It is going to take a lot of work, because there are a lot of other national teams with a lot of quality. Within the team there is a commitment of wanting to win, to fight with everything and make the final of the competition."

Paraguay has been handed a tougher possible route through to the quarterfinals, with Ramon Diaz"s men pitted against the U.S., Colombia and Costa Rica in Group A.

Their recent record in the competition is impressive, following up on their run to the final five years ago when Paraguay was beaten 3-0 by Uruguay with a fourth-place finish in Chile last year.

With just one win in the last five games, Paraguay is not in the best vein of form. But winger Edgar Benitez is relishing the opportunity to impress at a major tournament and says the entire squad is ready to prove its worth on the international stage.

"There is not one player who wants to miss out on this tournament or who refuses to play for the national team," Benitez said. "In our country there are few opportunities to draw attention from abroad, and if we want a better way of life, we have to take advantage of the international spotlight."

The unidentified child crawled through a barrier at Gorilla World on Saturday afternoon before falling about 10 to 12 feet into a moat, according to ABC News. After determining that the situation was life-threatening, a zoo employee shot and killed the gorilla. According to a statement on the parks website, the security teams quick response saved the childs life. We are all devastated that his tragic accident resulted in the death of a critically-endangered gorilla. This is a huge loss for the Zoo family and the gorilla population worldwide.

The Cincinnati Zoos response team decided against using a tranquilizer dart on the gorilla as it wouldve taken effect too slowly, according to CNN.

The 4-year-old boy was immediately transported to Cincinnati Childrens Hospital Medical Center, where it was determined that his injuries were non-life-threatening, according tolocal reports.

Patriots" Terrance Knighton ready to resume Kevin Durant recruitment to Celtics

Kevin Durant Full Highlights 2016 WCF Game 2 at Warriors - 29 Pts.

With good friend Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder one win away from a trip to the NBA Finals, New England Patriots defensive lineman Terrance Knighton has paused his attempts to coerce the former MVP to join the Boston Celtics this summer.

But the Windsor, Connecticut, native who signed this offseason with the Patriots has pledged to resume his full-court press once Durant"s season is over.

"I"m leaving him alone right now. Letting him finish up," Knighton told reporters earlier this week at Patriots" offseason training activities at Gillette Stadium.

"I love how he"s playing. I hope that he wins [an NBA title], kind of hope that he doesn"t. But as soon as the season"s over, if he"s hoisting the trophy or not, I"ll be texting him every day, calling him, flying down to OKC. I"ll be in his ear a lot. Trust me."

Knighton has previously noted how he and Durant clicked when introduced a few years back. Knighton visited Durant in Oklahoma City and posted some video of the two playing one-on-one at the team"s practice facility.

While many have wondered whether Oklahoma City"s strong playoff showing has made it more likely that Durant will re-sign with the Thunder when he reaches free agency this summer, the 6-foot-3, 354-pound Knighton says he"s an expert at applying pressure.

Having Knighton in New England can"t hurt. He played last season in Washington, Durant"s hometown and another potential suitor this summer if the free agent explores his options.

"Wolverine 3" Update: "X-Men Apocalypse" Post Credit Scene Hints At New Villains "The Reaves"

X-Men: Apocalypse Post Credit Scene Explained (The Rundown)

Hugh Jackman will return for another Wolverine 3 movie. But he promises that this will be the last time hes putting the claws on. He hashtagged on Twitter #OneLastTime, to signify the last Wolverine movie franchise he will ever make.

With Wolverine 3 slashing the movie theaters next year, fans are eager to know who the potential villains are. Hugh Jackman, who plays Logan (also known as Wolverine) in the movies, has had his fair share of villains. Screen Rantnotes that he faced foes like General Stryker, The Silver Samurai and even Sabertooth. If speculations about the movie following The Uncanny X-Men series are true, then fans will be expecting to see The Reavers.

The Reavers are cyber-engineered thieves who (depending on the alternate universe) are eager to destroy the X-Men. Lady Deathstrike is involved with The Reavers. Wolverine had a run-in with Lady Deathstrike in X-Men 2 and according to Games Radar, The Reavers will be led by a mutant-hating Donald Pierce. In the comics, The Reavers have been deployed as both an elite military task force and a gang of thieves. If these speculations are proved accurate, those seem like unlikely prospects for their big screen debut.

For those who have seen X-Men: Apocalypse, the post-credits scene showed the possible appearance of Mr. Sinister. After being released by Jean Grey in the movie, vials, aside from Weapon Xs blood sample, are seen being hauled away. There were four vials contained in the briefcase which create the possibility of three other super-enhanced beings. This could possibly ignite the speculation that Wolverines fate will rest on battling the other vials origins. It is not yet confirmed if Logan will indeed be battling with cyborg villains but the post-credits scene does tease that possibility.

Wolverine 3 is directed by James Mangold and also stars Patrick Stewart, Boyd Holbrook, Richard E. Grant, and Elizabeth Rodriguez.

X-Men: Apocalypse will hit U.S. theaters on May 27th, 2016 and Wolverine 3 on March 3rd, 2017.

LeBron James isn"t just going back to the NBA Finals. He"s returning with a team that"s healthy and whole, which makes this trip unlike last year.

Maybe it will lead to a different result.

James scored 33 points, Kevin Love had 20 points and 12 rebounds, and the ClevelandCavaliersbeat the Toronto Raptors 113-87 in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals Friday night, winning the series 4-2.

Kyrie Irving had 30 points and J.R. Smith added 15 for theCavaliers, who will face the winner of the Golden State-Oklahoma City series beginning Thursday.

Cleveland would open at home against the Thunder but would be on the road against the 73-win Warriors, who trail 3-2 against Oklahoma City, heading into Saturday"s Game 6.

Last year, a depleted Cavs team lost in six games to the Warriors, left to wonder whether things would have worked out differently if Love (left shoulder) and Irving (left knee) had been at full strength.

That"s not a concern this time around.

"There"s definitely a different feeling," said James, who was emotional during his postgame interview on the court.

"I didn"t appreciate last year, myself personally, getting to the finals. So much was going on in my mind, knowing that Kev was out for the rest of the season and knowing that Ky was dealing with injuries all the way from the first round. Having these guys right here at full strength, having our team at full strength and the way I feel personally, I appreciate this moment, to be able to be a part of it and be there once again."

(The Associated Press contributed to this report.)
