LANSING, MI The Mega Millions jackpot now over $500 million as no one won the top prize of $454 million for the drawing held on July 5, 2016.
The drawing on Friday, July 8 will have an estimated jackpot of $508 million and cash option of $357 million. It will continue to be the third largest drawing in the game"s history and seventh largest in U.S. lottery history.

Seven players matched all five white b***s to win $1 milllion. Winning tickets were purchased in California, Florida, New Jersey Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Texas.
None of those players played the Megaplier which would have increased their winnings to $5 million.
In Michigan, 107,086 people won at least $2.
Eight players in the state matched four white ball and the gold Mega Ball to win $5,000. That was the largest prize won in the state.
Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. Five b***s are drawn from a set of b***s numbered 1 through 75; the Mega ball is drawn from a set of b***s numbered 1 through 15. The odds of winning the jackpot is 1 in 259 million.
Mega Millions is played in 44 states, plus the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands. Tickets cost $1 each.

A woman identified her husband, Alva Braziel, as the man who was shot and killed in Houston Saturday
Houston police shot and killed a man after he pointed a gun at them, authorities said.
Two officers saw a man standing in the road on the city"s south side around 12:40am Saturday, according to the police department.
They asked him to put down the gun, but he pointed it in the air instead before aiming it at the officers, police said.
The officers fired numerous times, fatally hitting the man. A woman told ABC 13 he was her husband and identified him as Alva Braziel.
Witness Eric Puckett confirmed to the network the man was a black male. The races of the two officers remained unknown as of Saturday morning.
The two officers have each spent 10 and 13 years in the force according to ABC 13. They were wearing body cams at the time of the shooting, the department said.
Internal affairs and Harris County will investigate the shooting.
It came one day after a gunman shot 12 officers and two civilians in Dallas, killing five of the city"s officers.
He acted during a Black Lives Matter rally, which itself was held in protest against the shooting death of two black men at the end of police in Minnesota and Louisiana.
Alton Sterling, 37, was killed following a confrontation outside a Baton Rouge convenience store early Tuesday morning.
Philando Castile, 32, was shot dead by a cop during a traffic stop in Minnesota Wednesday.
Five officers died during the rampage the following day.Dallas police officers Patrick Zamarripa, Michael Krol, Lorne Ahrens, Michael J Smith and Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) police officer Brent Thompson were all killed in the downtown area of the city.

Alva Braziel Shot 10 Times & Killed By Houston Police
HOUSTON --
Houston police said two officers shot and killed a man who was armed on Houston"s south side early Saturday.
The shooting happened on Cullen near Yellowstone around 12:40 a.m. Officers said they saw a man with a revolver standing in the road. There were two officers in one vehicle and they asked the man to put the revolver down. The man then pointed the revolver in the air and then pointed the revolver at officers, police said.
Immediately after, HPD said, officers fired numerous shots at the man. He died at the scene.
A woman who claimed to be the man"s wife identified him as Alva Braziel.
According to authorities, the officers involved were wearing body cameras at the time of the shooting.
One of the officers is a 10-year veteran of the force, and the other has been with the force for 13 years. As part of the routine following any officer-involved shooting, the officers will be investigated by internal affairs, along with Harris County.
A bystander, Eric Puckett, told ABC affiliate KTRK-TV it was a black man that died and said black men in the area are targeted.
"It"s like we got a target on our back even if we innocent, it hurts. You don"t even want to walk outside your house no more. But to all the young black men and young black women out there, all black people do something positive," Puckett said.
A nearby gas station captured the scene and police said the video will confirm what happened, along with witness testimony.
Police continued to investigate at the scene where a large crowd has gathered. Shell casings and a revolver were also seen among the evidence markers.
Area city council member Dwight Boykins said these issues need to be addressed in the community.
"The biggest gorilla in the room is very clear," said Boykins. "We need to put officers in neighborhoods that reflect the neighborhood."

Tip in a tip: If you have the Amazon app on your phone or tablet, use it to scan a products barcode to be taken directly to the products page on Amazon.
3. Translate languages
International travelers will love this amazing use of a smartphones camera. Ever try to read a foreign menu, visitors plaque, or signbut you didnt have a clue what it said? Say adis, arrivederci, ciao, au revoir, or good-bye to those days in these and 24 more languages.
Just aim your smartphones camera at the text and the Google Translate app will magically transform that foreign language into the language of your choice. Watching the words change in real time feels like science fiction.
Google Translate currently supports 29 camera translation languages. It also offers instant speech translation for 32 languages by using voice recognition. Google Translate is available for both iOSand Android.
4. Star gazing
How many times have you looked up at the night sky and wondered if that bright light was a planet or a star? SkyView for iOS or Android is right up your alley.
Using augmented reality, this app uses your smartphones camera to spot celestial objects. Simply point your camera skyward and SkyView will guide you through constellations, galaxies, stars and even man-made satellites and their locations. 5. Finding restaurants
Did you know that the Yelp app has an augmented reality feature called Monocle?
By using your smartphone"s camera and compass, Yelp"s Monocle feature overlaysmarkers and tiles of restaurants and bars around your immediate area. You use your camera to scan around to locateestablishments relative to your orientation. It also gives you the usual Yelp reviews and details.
This is handy if you are walking around, looking for a place to eat. Just fire up Yelp"s Monocle, search for restaurants and bars,and let it guide your way.
Bonus: Security camera
You can use your smartphones camera as a mini surveillance system. Maybe you want to watch a specific drawer, medicine cabinet, jewelry box, your cubicle at work, the door to your room if you have roommates, or what"s happening in your hotel room while you"re out.
Specialty apps use your phone"s camera to sense motion, and then alert you via email or text. Apple users will want to download the Manything app. Android users can grab the Salient Eye app.

INDIANAPOLIS -- A new era for the Indianapolis 500 arrived in the form of a most unfamiliar driver.
An American, no less.
Alexander Rossi outlasted his faster rivals - and his fuel tank - for a stunning victory Sunday in the historic 100th running of "The Greatest Spectacle In Racing." The unlikely win allowed the long-suffering Andretti family to celebrate in the biggest race of their storied careers and it left the top drivers in the field fuming over Rossi"s good fortune.
Rossi was a 66-to-1 long shot and certainly not the driver anyone would have picked to win. But the 24-year-old Californian used fuel strategy to outsmart a handful of drivers who had the most dominant cars in the race.
Rossi stretched his final tank of gas 90 miles to cycle into the lead as others had to duck into the pits for a splash of fuel in the waning laps. He was sputtering on the final lap, working his clutch and getting screamed at by team co-owner Bryan Herta to conserve fuel, and he ultimately ran out of gas after taking the checkered flag.
His victory celebration came only after his Honda was towed to the party. He sat in the car for some time before climbing out to take that sweet sip of milk.
"I have no idea how we pulled that off," he declared.
"I really was focused on taking it one lap at a time," Rossi said. "The emotional roller-coaster of this race is ridiculous. There were moments I was really stoked, really heartbroken, really stoked. I was like, `Wow, I"ll need to see a psychiatrist after this.""
Rossi didn"t have the speed of Carlos Munoz, who was charging hard over the final 50 miles. But Munoz also had to stop for gas and didn"t have a chance to race his teammate for the victory, even though Rossi was running on fumes and completed the final lap at a snail"s pace of 179.784 mph.
The Colombian settled for second in a 1-2 finish for Andretti Autosport. He seemed devastated after his second runner-up finish in four years.
"I was really disappointed when it comes with fuel and you lose the race because of that," Munoz said. "I was really disappointed to get second. Half a lap short. What can I say? The only thing I"m clear about is that I will win this race one day."
Munoz has contended at Indy before and he"s proven to be fast at the speedway.
Rossi? Well, not many know much about him at all.
He"s an IndyCar rookie who has chased a ride in Formula One since he was 10. He left for Europe when he was 16 and never pursued a career in American open-wheel racing. But stuck without a ride this year, he made the decision to return to the United States to race and became the ninth rookie to win the 500 and the first since Helio Castroneves in 2001.
Rossi understood full well that it was strategy that got him this win, and he knows what an Indy 500 victory means.
"I have no doubt it"s going to change my life," he said.
Although he"s a relief driver for Manor Racing in F1, Rossi has no scheduled F1 races and IndyCar right now is his top commitment. He was lured back to America this year to drive for Herta in a partnership with Andretti Autosport. Herta was the winning car owner in 2011 with Dan Wheldon, the actual 100th anniversary of the first race in 1911, and now can claim a win in the 100th actual race.
"I can"t compare (the wins) other than to say I am so happy," Herta said. " I can"t overstate how hard it was for Alex to do what I was asking of him on the radio."
This Herta effort relied heavily on its alliance with Andretti, and the family was hoping Marco Andretti would give them their first Indy 500 title since patriarch Mario Andretti won in 1969.
Instead, Marco Andretti never contended on a day at least three of his teammates were clearly among the best in the field. Ryan Hunter-Reay and Townsend Bell combined to lead 64 of the first 119 laps, but the Americans were knocked from contention when Bell clipped Castroneves as he left pit road. The contact caused Bell to crash into Hunter-Reay.
"Ryan and Townsend looked really good up front, we thought they would be the team to beat," team owner Michael Andretti said. "Unfortunately, they had their problem in the pit, which I could not believe, and I thought that may have been our shot at winning."
Herta decided to gamble with Rossi on fuel strategy, and it"s the only thing that made him a late contender.
As the laps wound down, American Josef Newgarden and Munoz repeatedly swapped the lead. Both had to stop for gas, Rossi moved into the lead and it was all his from there.
Michael Andretti earlier this month was voted by the 27 living winners as the best driver never to win the race, but he has now won the 500 four times as a car owner.
"I knew Alex was going to try (the fuel strategy), and we said `Alright, if he"s going to try it, we"re going to try something else (with Munoz)," Andretti said. "To come home 1-2 is just incredible. It was amazing. I don"t know what to say, it"s a great day, to be a part of history, to win the 100th running, and to win it with a 1-2 finish is just incredible."
Newgarden finished third and was followed by Tony Kanaan, Charlie Kimball and JR Hildebrand as Chevrolet drivers took spots three through six.
Newgarden, along with Hunter-Reay, Bell, Kanaan and James Hinchcliffe, had the strongest cars most of the race. Hinchcliffe, the pole winner who missed this race last year after a near-fatal accident in a practice session, faded to seventh despite being one of the best cars in the field.
"If I was in Alex"s position, I"d be the happiest person in the world right now, I wouldn"t care how we won the d**n race," Newgarden said. "Everyone was on different strategies, and they played that strategy. Those guys, to put it politely, weren"t as strong as us. They didn"t have as strong a chance to win, so they had to mix it up. It worked out at the end for them."
In front of the first sellout in Indy 500 history, Rossi stunned the more than 350,000 fans in attendance. He was in Monaco this time last year for F1"s signature race, unsure of what his future held.
"I had no idea I"d be in IndyCar, I had no idea I"d be in the Indy 500," said Rossi, who becomes the 70th winner in race history.
He will now also become the 103rd face on the famed Borg-Warner Trophy.
