Justin Bieber With Sofia Richie And Selena Gomez With Mystery Men Send Message: Farewell, Jelena

Tendencias: Justin Bieber and Sofia Richie! #RIPBeliebers

Fans of Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez (Jelena) have continued to hope that the golden couple would forgive each other and forget the past. But now both Bieber and Gomez have destroyed those dreams by doing the opposite of rekindling their Jelena joy: Each singer is traveling a separate path to find a new love.

Justin, 22, has succeeded in a very public performance of serial dating, reuniting with Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Kourtney Kardashian, 37, at a nightclub in July and then promptly moving on to go skinny-dipping with hot model Sahara Ray in Hawaii, as the Inquisitr reported.

Farewell, Selena, Hello, Sofia

Biebers latest move away from Jelena is to link up with the daughter of music legend Lionel Richie, 17-year-old Sofia, according to the Daily Mail.

The two were seen walking together in a Tokyo park, with the teenager tuning up her style in a trendy leopard print coat while Bieber accompanied her in his traditional casual outfit of T-shirt and baggy chinos. The visit to Japan is doing more than provide paparazzi with PDA pictures, however. Its all part of Justins Purpose World Tour.

One change from Biebers typical dates: Richie has protective papa Lionel watching out for her. But an insider told Hollywood Life that the 67-year-old entertainment mogul has no fears about his teen daughter, because he has known the singer for years.

Lionel and Justin go way back, explained the insider.

Lionel thinks hes a good guy. Hes happy that his daughter is enjoying herself and trusts that shes in good hands.

Moreover, Lionel is proud of his daughter, who he views as smart and bright, added the source. Consequently, he is not worried that his 17-year-old was spotted on romantic dates with Bieber before taking the relationship to new heights by soaring off to Japan with him.

In contrast to Bieber, Gomez prefers to keep her love life private. So much so, that her Instagram posts repeatedly send fans into a frenzy trying to puzzle out to whom Selena is referring.

First there was the Instagram video in which Gomez revealed she has regular cuddle sessions with a mystery man named Elie.

Love my Elie. Everyday we do a little catchup/cuddle sesh.

Baffled fans wanted answers.

Who is Elie?? pleaded one.

But Selena kept her secrets. Gomez was seen with another mystery man, dancing the salsa after her performance in Auckland, reported Hollywood Life.

Once again Selena headed to Instagram, this time to share those dance moves as well as offer a hint as to whom accompanied her. She noted that she was feeling somewhat sick, but could not resist the pleas of her babies, including a mystery dance partner.

When my babies take me salsa dancing even when they told me not to because Im sick I dont care, wrote the determined-to-dance singer in the caption.

But while the mysteries continued on Instagram, one of Gomezs former boyfriends ended a mystery by confirming that he did date the singer.

However, even though they were seen holding hands, Gomez refused to confirm that they were dating, noted Elle.

Now, however, Samuel (a friend of Gigi Hadid and graduate of NYU) just provided the confirmation of his romance with Selena.

To those who slammed Gomez for any reason, Krost shared his strong feelings for her.

Selena is a real girl with a real heart and real feelings.

Samuel continued to attack those superficial people who were not satisfied with their own love lives, hashtagging and tagging Gomez in his post, which he subsequently deleted.

All you superficial who are just unhappy with your love lives, understand that love is real, added Krost. Although we have ventured on separate paths, at least I know that love exists. I love you, Sel.

USA: JFK Airport evacuated after reports of shots fired

Travelers were evacuated from a terminal at New York"s John F. Kennedy Airport on Sunday night, after apparently false reports that shots had been fired. A massive police presence searched the terminal, but found no evidence of a shooting, and no victims. The New York Port Authority, which runs the airport, issued a statement late Sunday, saying: "At this time, no gun shells or other evidence of shots fired has been found. The terminal was evacuated out of an abundance of caution."

Amick: USA men"s basketball has to do some soul-searching after Serbia scare

USA struggles to close out France in another tight win | Men"s Basketball | Rio Olympics 2016

Usain Bolt starts his quest for a three-peat, and it"s the last day of swimming with Michael Phelps, Lilly King and Simone Manuel competing for gold. USA TODAY Sports" Rachel Axon preps you for what to watch for on Saturday, Aug. 13. USA TODAY Sports

United States guard Kyrie Irving (10) looks on during the game against Serbia in the preliminary round of the Rio 2016 Summer Olympic Games.(Photo: Jason Getz, USA TODAY Sports)

RIO DE JANEIRO Nearly two years ago, inside a joyous arena in Madrid where the American revelry went deep into the night, Kyrie Irving and the rest of the Team USA walked out with FIBA World Cup gold medals that had been earned with surprising ease.

It wasnt just that they were the FIBA World Cup mens basketball champs. It was that they hadnt even been tested, winning nine games by an average of 33 points with a group that was considered a B Team in the tournament that many countries consider even more important than the Olympics.

No Kevin Durant, Paul George, or Carmelo Anthony? No problem all the way until the end, when they downed Serbia by 37 points in the finale.

The underlying message, one that was debunked Fridaywhen Team USA survived a rematch against Serbia in what was its second consecutive skin-of-the-teeth game, 94-91, was that its dominance in the sport was reaching new heights again. Boy, were we wrong.

I don"t know if two years ago was easy, Irving recalled. Its just weve just got to find our rhythm. And once we do that, well be all right.

But will they?

The Australia game was one thing, a 98-88 win on Wednesday when they were pushed, pulled and nearly punked before Carmelo Anthony almost singlehandedly saved the day. This time, against a Serbian team that returned nine players from the FIBA gold medal matchup and one key addition in 21-year-old dynamo Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets (25 points), a 23-5 early lead segued into inexcusable complacency and an offensive clinic the likes of which they wont soon forget.

Yet the glaring revelation in both games, the thing that makes you wonder if that 49-game winning streak in FIBA play might come to an end, is that this group has trust issues on the court that arent easily resolved.

Ever since the Americans started using pros in 1992, it has always been the lone danger with that formula. The best players on the planet, thrown together in mixtures that dont have much time to jell, will almost always rely on what got them there to begin with: themselves.

On one side, there were talents like Irving, Durant, Anthony, George and DeMar DeRozan, who are so accustomed to taking over games at the highest level. On the other, where stagnant offense isnt the way of their hoops world, there was the kind of cohesion, cutting and chemistry that left their coach, Sasha Djordjevicdrawing comparisons between his team and the beautiful basketball of the San Antonio Spurs afterward.

As good as we are, we cant continue to keep playing like this, George said. Were still scoring 100 points taking one-on-five shots, but were too good for that. The toughest part is that each and every one of us is confident with the ball in our hands that we can make those shots. It just comes down to a trust factor, not letting one guy have that feeling that he has to do it alone."

Its officially time for some soul-searching on the Team USA front, and theres no better spokesman for that cause than George.

The Indiana Pacers star was in Spain in spirit back on Sept. 14, 2014, when they all flooded the Palacio de Deportes de la Comunidad court and talked about him with heavy hearts afterward. His gruesome leg break that summer had unified them in ways that are worth remembering now, providing the kind of bigger-than-basketball reminder that made the FIBA challenge seem so minor in the grand scheme. George, they all said, had earned that gold medal alongside the rest of them.

"It took us to another level relationship-wise," Irving, a good friend of Georges, told me about Georges injury that night of the gold medal game. Nobody"s invincible. But one thing we can do is come together as a team, and we did a great job of that.

Now its time to do it again.

Youve got teams definitely gearing up for us, said DeRozan, the Toronto Raptors star and one of four players on that 2014 team (along with Irving, the Golden State Warriors Klay Thompson and the Sacramento Kings DeMarcus Cousins). Its the Olympics. Theyre coming at us with everything theyve got. Every single guy on their team, all 12 guys, understands whats at stake for them and theyre going out there and showing it. Weve got to be a lot better. We understand whats going on, (and) we understand we dont want to be in these positions again.

Tennis player Monica Puig wins Puerto Rico"s first-ever Olympics gold medal

Monica Puig Oro Olimpiadas Rio 2016 REACCION

To a soundtrack of "Si se puede!" from the stands, Monica Puig won Puerto Rico"s first gold medal in any sport in Olympic history, upsetting Angelique Kerber of Germany 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 in the women"s tennis singles final Saturday at the Rio de Janeiro Games.

Yes, she can. And, yes, she did.

Puig is also the first woman representing Puerto Rico to earn a medal of any color at an Olympics, and when she finished a tense closing game saving six break points and converting her fourth match point she dropped her racket and went over to collect a flag she paraded across the court.

Gigi Fernandez, who is Puerto Rican, won two Olympic women"s doubles gold medals in tennis, but did so while representing the United States.

The 22-year-old Puig was born in Puerto Rico. She now lives in Florida.

As a teenager at the 2013 French Open, Puig became the first woman representing Puerto Rico to reach the third round at a Grand Slam tournament in the Open era, which began in 1968. A month later, she followed that up by getting to the fourth round at Wimbledon, portending great things, but she hasn"t been that far again at any major.

Also notable about Puig: She is the first unseeded woman to win the singles title since tennis returned to the Olympics in 1988. Ranked 34th, she added her surprising win over the second-seeded Kerber the Australian Open champion and Wimbledon runner-up this year to those she picked up in Brazil against two other past major title winners, Garbine Muguruza and Petra Kvitova.

Earlier Saturday, Kvitova earned the bronze for the Czech Republic by beating Madison Keys of the United States 7-5, 2-6, 6-2.

Kvitova called her medal "one of the best things that happened in my career, definitely."

Clearly, Puig felt the same.

And she played attacking tennis full of powerful shots that seemed to rattle the counter-punching Kerber.

Puig smacked a down-the-line backhand her 18th winner to that point, 10 more than Kerber for a break that gave her the opening set.

During the ensuing changeover, Kerber was visited by a trainer, standing on the sideline while her lower back was massaged and manipulated.

Kerber then left the court for a medical timeout, leading to a total delay of about 8 minutes. During the break, Puig walked out on court and practiced serves.

Didn"t do her much good, though.

When action resumed, Puig made a series of errors that allowed Kerber to break for a 1-0 lead in the second set, which quickly became 2-0.

But Puig got back into that set by breaking to 4-all when a 23-stroke exchange ended with Kerber dumping a forehand volley into the net.

That set off singing, dancing and flag-waving among the Puerto Rican contingent in the crowd. Their chant of choice was "Si se puede!" ("Yes we can!").

But they were quiet a few minutes later, when Puig double-faulted to set up break point for Kerber, who cashed in the chance with a cross-court backhand winner for a 5-4 edge, then served out the set to force a third.

Yet Puig, despite so much less experience on these sorts of big stages, raced to a 5-0 lead in the final set and was on her way.
