Democrats kick off their national convention in Philadelphia on Monday, aiming to project the image of a party united behind Hillary Clinton. The task was made tougher after a batch of internal Democratic National Committee emails leaked late last week, showing some party officials were biased against Clinton"s opponent, Bernie Sanders. The leak prompted DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz"s resignation Sunday, and on Monday she told the Sun Sentinel that she would no longer be opening and closing her party"s convention. Wasserman Schultz was also was heavily booed at a breakfast for her Florida delegation Monday morning. Sanders, for his part, said he still planned to do everything he could to defeat Donald Trump, elect Clinton, and "keep focusing on the real issues facing the American people" though he too was booed by supporters for calling for Clinton"s election. He"ll make a prime-time speech Monday night.
