More Pokmon GO Invites Emailed to U.S. Testers

Actually Playing Pokemon GO In Public!!!

Pokmon GO developer Niantic Labs began distributing a second wave of email invites to eligible field testers in the United States yesterday.

The new batch of invitations didnt come without a small hiccup, however. Yesterday evening, a Nintendo News reader said, I got in, but now Im having issues getting my Google Play app to realize that I should be able to access the beta.

Unfortunately, Niantics email had a small typo in the URL link that prevented users from accessing the Pokmon GO field test app. Specifically, theres an extra letter in the link, as seen here:

  • https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.nianticlabsc.pokemongo/join (incorrect)
  • https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.nianticlabs.pokemongo/join (correct)

Simply deleting the c after nianticlabs will result in a working link. However, a few of Nintendo Newss Twitter followers (thanks, Postman, Jason and Ricky V) told us this morning that Niantic re-sent the email with the corrected URL.

If youve been chosen as one of the lucky field test participants, how are you enjoying Pokmon GO thus far? Feel free to let us know in the comments section below or on our social media channels.

The final version of Pokmon GO is still set to arrive onAndroid and iOS devices in 2016.

Richard Simmons transitioning into a woman, report says

Dance Workout with Richard Simmons (Sweat and Shout)

A tabloid report made waves on Wednesday with claims Richard Simmons recent self-imposed withdrawal from the public eye is because he has transitioned into a woman, but a rep for the fitness guru told FOX411 thereport is bogus.

Not true and a complete fabrication, Simmons" publicist said of the claims.

The National Enquirers cover featured a photo they claimed showed Simmons wearing womens clothes. The report also claimed he goes by the name Fiona.

Simmons was hospitalized over the weekend for what the fitness guru said was exhaustion. On Tuesday,TMZpublished grainy paparazzi pics of someone they said was Simmons leaving the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles sporting a full beard.

FOX411 reached out to Simmons camp earlier this week after he was hospitalized and his rep said Simmons was just fine and had been released from the hospital on Saturday.

Simmons, 67, has not been seen in public in over two years. After reports surfaced that he was being held in his home against his will earlier this year, Simmons told Entertainment Tonight "I am not kidnapped. I am just in my house right now," adding "no one should be worried about me. The people that surround me are wonderful people who take great care of me."

Pike and muskie on Chicago lakefront: Perspectives

THE SHALLOWS - Official Trailer #2 (HD)

Toothy predators on the Chicago lakefront doubled down for me last week.

Northern pike and muskies.

First Marcus Benesch, who sends fishing reports for the Des Plaines River, had an aside about guys fishing smallmouth bass on the lakefront, A buddy of mine hooked into a uppers 30s [inches] musky at Burnham Harbor, with no way of landing it, it bit off at the wall.

A lot of guys started chit chatting and it turns out there has been a pair of muskies that have been spotted a few times in the shallows at Burnham. Whats going on? Some secret stocking or just rogue urban muskies?

Fair questions. (Plus I like the phrase, rogue urban muskies.)

On Friday, noted smallmouth fisherman, jig-maker and skateboarder Ryan Whitacre, texted, Just counted [seven] decent-sized pike at [a lakefront harbor]. What the h**l!!!?

I am leery of the pike being pounded so I did not list the particular harbor.

Then Whitacre added, Make that [nine] and sent a photo of a thick pike that went 40+ inches in the water. Years ago, I tracked reports of big pike on the lakefront, but stopped when they reached 39 1/2 inches.

When I reached out to Philip Willink, senior research biologist for the Shedd Aquarium, he relayed an interesting story from Burnham.

Are you sure they are muskies?, he wondered. Last week, I saw a bunch of a pike there. It seem to be getting more common. We know there are pike around.

He even saw one that he thought was a muskie. But he had a pair of binoculars along and was able to confirm that it was a northern pike.

He said for some reason the pike in the harbors are marked in such a way as when seen from above people see lines or stripes and think they see a muskie.

All you really see is the back, he said. Some of these pike look a lot like muskie.

Not that he rules out the possibility of muskie on the lakefront.

There could be muskie out there, they had stocked them in Wolf Lake, he noted.

Vic Santucci, Lake Michigan Program head for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, emailed, I havent heard or seen anything about muskie in Burnham recently. We do get periodic reports of muskie in Illinois Lake Michigan waters from time to time, but I have yet to see one.

As to pike in the harbors, he emailed, We have not seen any big changes in terms of northern pike in the harbors.Northern pike are definitely present in the harbors that we sample and we do occasionally catch a good-sized one (>35 inches) during harbor electrofishing surveys. No indication of substantial changes or trends in numbers or sizes from our efforts. Very few pike are reported in the [Illinois Natural History Survey] creel survey reports, as well.

That said, northern pike do appear to be more abundant in recent years compared to past decades. Since IDNR does not stock pike in Lake Michigan, higher abundance these days may be due to increases in water clarity and aquatic vegetation abundance along the shoreline benefiting natural pike reproduction. Nine pike in one harbor sounds like a good sign for anglers that like to catch the toothy predators.

My gut says Santuccis second paragraph goes to the heart of the changes on Lake Michigan and pike, and that eventually data will bear that out.

STRAY CAST: Charlie Potters excuse making for Gov Bruce Rauner and the IDNR is as nonsensical as a poachers b******g about Illinois deer management.

Protesters ring local school

Google Isn"t Racist! But If You Search Three Black Teenagers Vs Three White Teenagers It Seems It IS

WACO, Texas (KWTX) About 100 protesters gathered for about two hours Friday afternoon in downtown Waco outside Live Oak Classical School, which the mother of a 12-year-old black student says she"s going to sue over a rope burn her daughter received while on a school campout.

Sandy Rougelys lawsuit against the school will allege that her daughter was the victim of racially-motivated bullying by her sixth grade classmates that had gone on for months, and that white students placed a rope around the girls neck as the youngsters played during the April 28 campout at a ranch in Blanco County.

The protesters, some carrying signs, chanted such things as Black power, No justice, no peace, and Whos her family, were her family.

The protest, organized by the Black Womens Defense League of Dallas, which says it wants answers about the April 28 incident, which it called an attempted lynching" involving three white teenage boys.

"So as concerned citizens we come from Dallas just to to get answers, why, if this had been three black boys and a white girl they would"ve been in prison already. So why is it that these boys don"t get any punishment for bullying this little girl," protester Lele Marie said.

The organization says it has provided food, clothing, domestic violence assistance and a number of other much needed resources weekly to families of color all over Dallas since its inception in 2015, and says its mission is to foster a sense of community and solidarity.

Classes at the school ended Thursday instead of Friday.

The protest shut down classes on what was suppose to be the school"s last day.

The protest later moved up Austin Avenue.

Some protesters were shaking their fists at passing motorists at 17th Street and Austin, a local resident

Protesters were later reported in a residential neighborhood in the area of 38th Street and Austin.

But some locals said they don"t like the way the group was going about voicing their concerns.

"These people travel down here from Dallas and although their support is commended, we"re all trying to bring just conclusion to this incident that happened to a 12-year-old girl is what we should focus on. These people are not focusing on that and it"s giving the city a very bad light," Malachi Quietus Khan said.

School trustee Jeremy Counseller said last week the girl was injured accidentally by a rope swing and accused Rougely"s attorney of exploiting the accident for financial gain.

Rougely, who was not called about the injury, told the newspaper she took her daughter to an emergency room after the girl returned from the camping trip, the newspaper reported.

A CT scan was performed because the girl complained of neck and shoulder pain and a doctor prescribed a prescription antibiotic ointment, ibuprofen and an inhaler, the paper said.

In a statement issued on May 20 to KWTX, the school said it was contacted two weeks ago by Rougelys attorney, who claimed the girls injuries were the result of a racially motivated intentional attack."

Rougelys attorney, Levi G. McCathern II of Dallas, sent the schools lawyer a letter in which he said, We will resolve all claims against the school, students, teachers, parents, the ranch owners, and all of their employees and all of their employees, agents, and representatives for $2,700,000.

The letter demanded payment by 5 p.m. May 11.

Starting tomorrow evening I will need to start releasing information to media sources to coincide with the May 15th Centennial Anniversary we discussed, which was an apparent reference to the 100th anniversary of the lynching of Jesse Washington, 17, who was brutally beaten, hanged, and burned alive on July 15, 1916 after being convicted of the murder of Robinson resident Lucy Fryer.

The school refused to comply with the demand.

The facts establish that the injuries were wholly unrelated to any racial bias or prejudice and were the result of an accident, the schools statement said.

The school interviewed all student eyewitnesses and teachers who were present and each independently established that the accusation made by the attorney is absolutely false. The injuries were caused accidentally while the students were playing with the swing and attached pull-rope, the statement said.

(McCathern) was advised of the results of the interviews, the statement said.

This is a young, African American girl in an almost all white school. She wound up on the ground at a school sponsored campout with a rope that was attached to a tree wrapped around her neck, McCathern said in a statement to KWTX on May 20

Despite the obvious injuries to her, no one at Live Oak contacted her mother or took her to a place to receive medical treatment. For Live Oak to bury their head in the sand and chalk this incident up to kids being kids is irresponsible but unfortunately all too common, he said.

While our client and her mother are justifiably outraged by this incident and how it was handled by Live Oak, it was agreed that the medias involvement would only happen if Live Oak refused to take responsibility for this incident. To that end, we requested an amount that would provide counseling and education and pay for some of the damages inflicted, he said.

Live Oak offered absolutely nothing in return - not even payment for the cost of the trip to the emergency room.
