Rio Olympics 2016 Highlights, Best Moments, Results (Day 3 - August 8, 2016)

Recent 2016 Rio Olympics results revealed an exciting game from Team USA and the Australian Boomers. Ultimately, the Americans were able to keep their title as the reigning Olympic champions.

Fox Sportsreported that Australia lost 88-98 to Team USA. The Boomers were able to earn more admirers, though, as they proved their determination to nab the Olympic gold medal after winning against France and Serbia.

The game proved to be exhilarating as the Boomers had the lead by two points early in the final quarter. Team USA did all that they can to keep their champion status.

Veteran Carmelo Anthony scored 31 points for the game. Australia"s Patty Mills got 30 points. Matthew Dellavedova"s double-double (11 points, 11 assists) took him center stage for the second game in a row. His teammate, Andrew Bogut, expressed his disappointment over the 2016 Rio Olympics results.

"We had every opportunity to push that game... we still lost the game, it doesn"t mean anything," Bogut told Channel 7. "I know people are proud of us an we"re not supposed to beat these guys... but we believe we can beat them and we lost the game."

According to The Sydney Morning Herald, Kevin Durant previously shared his confidence that Team USA will not be beaten by the Boomers. Anthony also admitted that he was not worried about Matthew Dellavedova being in the Australian team.

It was noted that Team USA was too complacent early in the game before finally nabbing the victory. Bogut also made it clear that the Boomers were not in the 2016 Rio Olympics to "get their shoes signed" by Team USA.

The list of events happening on Aug. 11, Thursday, in Rio de Janeiro time, Aug. 12 in the U.S. revealed that World champion Mitch Larkin would continue his rivalry with the Americans at 11:26 a.m. for the Men"s 200m backstroke swimming competition.
