Joyce Beatty will see those accusations that Melania Trump ripped off MichelleObama"s speech.And she"ll raise you one stylish white dress, fitted, with bell sleeves.Beatty, D-Jefferson Township, caused a bit of a "Who Wore it Best" stir Thursday night at theDemocratic National Convention by appearing to wear the same style dress that Mrs. Trump " the wifeof Republican nominee Donald Trump " wore during her speech at the Republican National Conventionin Cleveland last week.Mrs. Trump"s dress " a long-sleeve Roksanda Ilincic white frock that reportedly retails at$2,190 " was praised after her speech in Cleveland, but quickly overlooked after an out-of-workjournalist in California noticed Mrs. Trump appeared to have plagiarized full paragraphs ofMichelle Obama"s 2008 Democratic National Convention Act in her own speech.Beatty " who used her four minutes at the dais to criticize Trump as a bully and "ill-prepared"for the White House " took it one step further.She seemed to plagiarized Mrs. Trump"s dress " and drew immediate national attention for it."Let Us Now Praise the Immaculate Shade of Joyce Beatty," Elle Magazine wrote."Congresswoman Trolls Melania Trump By Wearing Her Dress To DNC," observed the Huffington Post,which called it "one of the sickest political convention burns ever.""Joyce Beatty, Ohio State Representative, Rocks "Melania Trump Dress" at DNC," wrote EssenceMagazine.Asked by WCMH (Channel 4) about the dress, Beatty " a former Ohio state representative and thefirst female Ohio Democratic House Leader in history " said her husband bought it and asked her towear it. She insisted in an interview with "Entertainment Tonight" that she did not see MelaniaTrump"s speech nor the dress she wore, but noted that Trump is a size zero, while she is a size10."Now it"s blowing up all over the nation that it"s the same dress as Mrs. Trump"s but I don"tknow," Beatty said to WCMH. "I just know that I used my own words when I wore the dress."Since she entered Congress in 2013, Beatty has developed something of a gift for popping up inopportune places at extremely opportune times.She is unapologetic about this, telling this newspaper last year that she feels part of her dutyto her constituents is showing them she"s on the job and involved the Washington"s innerworkings.When President Barack Obama gave his 2013 State of the Union address, Beatty had an aisle seatand greeted him as he walked across the floor.
