Today (Jan. 18) Eagles founding member Glenn Frey died at the age of 67. Collaborating with the likes of Don Henley and Joe Walsh, the vocalist and multi-instrumentalist performed on some of rock"n" roll"smost iconic songs with Eagles. After they broke up in 1980, Frey enjoyed a successful solo career andhoned his acting skills, performing in shows like Miami Vice and films such asJerry Maguire. Eagles reformed in 1994, and Frey continued his duties -- both live and in the studio -- until the end of his life.

Frey wrote and performed You Belong to the City for 1985s Miami Vice soundtrack. As a single, it went to No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, tying "The Heat Is On" for his biggest solo hit. The soundtrack itself led the Billboard 200 for 11 weeks.

Seinfelds writers paid a major tribute to Eagles on a 1996 episode called The Checks. Here, Elaine dates a guy who is so obsessed with the bands Desperado that he silences her whenever it plays. When he wont share his song with her, she tries to make Witchy Woman her own Eagles song, but to no avail. Frey co-wrote Desperado and played piano on it. He performed backing vocals and lead guitar on Witchy Woman.

Heartache Tonight live
