French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain defeated UEFA Champions League victors Real Madrid 3-1 Wednesday night at Ohio Stadium in an international exhibition for the 2016 International Champions Cup.

In front of a crowd of 86,641 diverse supportersthe largest soccer crowd in Ohio history PSG claimed three points in the competition behind a goal from Jonathon Ikone, and a brace from substitute Thomas Meunier.

Overall, we saw two teams that need to keep working, work on things this preseason, players getting more minutes, PSG head coach Unai Emery said after the match. I think today, for us, was about work. Obviously we want to win and we play to win, but we will continue working, and focus on growing things.

The last time these two sides met was on November 3, 2015 in a UEFA Champions League group stage match, with Real Madrid winning at home 1-0. But this time, the French Ligue 1 champions struck first early.

In the 2nd minute, PSGs Jonathan Ikone carried the ball from 25 yards out towards the Real Madrid penalty area, and following a series of deflections, found himself one-on-one with Francisco Casilla. The defender calmly slid a shot past the goalkeeper into the bottom left corner to take the lead, scoring the fastest goal in ICC history.

The Red and Blue, the nickname of PSG, controlled the tempo and possession early in the first 45, but the Champions League winners had chances to equalize. Midfielder Mateo Kovacic curled a shot on net in the 18th minute that nipped the fingertips of a diving Kvin Trapp, rattled the right woodwork and bounced back to a waiting Trapp.

PSG defender Thiago Silva exited the match in the 11th minute with a leg injury, making way for the young Thomas Meunier. The Belgian international trotted around the pitch for over 20 minutes with his team in the lead, and in the 35th minute, he made his presence known.

Meunier received a deflected ball at his feet at the top of the 18 yard line, and fired a rising rocket into the left, upper-90 of the goal to double his sides lead. And five minutes later, the substitute netted his second goal of the night with an easy finish to put PSG up 3-0 late in the half.

Real Madrid, however, would cut the lead to two just before the break when the Red and Blues Serge Aurier was called for a handball in the box, awarding Real Madrid a penalty. Captain Marcelo stepped up to the spot, and powered it home.

After a flurry of substitutions from both sides at halftime, the second act of this international exhibition began with a sort of back-and-forth type of feeling, as shots peppered off the gloves of both Casilla and Trapp. Real Madrid held more urgency throughout the second half, controlling over 58 percent of the possession and outshooting the French side 16-12 overall, but could not recover from the first half deficit.

This was our first match after only ten days of training, so ultimately, this it normal, this is to be expected, Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane said in the post-match press conference. Overall, Im happy with everyone, with all the players.

PSGwinner of the 2015 International Champions Cuphave now won its last three matches in the competition, dating back to July 29, 2015.

This is a great club, and a club looking to continue writing its history, Emery said. This club has the intent to continue being one of the great teams, and fight against the top clubs in the world.

Emerys club will now meet English soccer champions Leicester City this Saturday at the StubHub Center in California, while Real Madrid gets set for a clash with English club Chelsea FC. These matches kick off at 5:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. ET, respectively.

The Latest: Real Madrid fans support team from afar

FINAL | Real Madrid - Atlético de Madrid | FUT DRAFT CHALLENGE !!

MILAN (AP) The Latest on the Champions League final (all times local):

Once again a Champions League final between the two teams could be heading into extra time as Atletico equalizes with 11 minutes remaining.

Halftime substitute Yannick Carrasco turned home Juanfran"s cross from close range to send the Atletico fans wild.

Real Madrid could have killed off the match moments earlier as Gareth Bale"s effort was cleared off the line, moments after Cristiano Ronaldo had two attempts saved.

Karim Benzema was also denied by Jan Oblak, with Ronaldo unmarked in the center of the penalty area.

Nearly 60,000 Real Madrid fans are in their home stadium in the Spanish capital watching their team play in the Champions League final.

Despite steady rain during most of the match, fans packed much of the 81,000-capacity stadium to watch the final against crosstown rival Atletico Madrid.

Four huge video screens were placed at midfield so fans could get an up-close view of the game in Milan.

Before the match started at the San Siro, the crowd in Spain sang the team"s anthem and loudly chanted as each player"s name appeared on the big screens.

The club said the exact attendance would be announced later Saturday.

Fernando Torres, who was poor in the first half, won a penalty for Atletico after he was barged over by Pepe soon after the game re-started.

However, Antoine Griezmann squandered Atletico"s chance to level as he smashed his effort onto the crossbar, much to the despair of his team"s own supporters packed behind that goal.

Griezmann is the first player to miss a penalty in the Champions League final since Arjen Robben in 2012.

Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas was booked for delaying the penalty before Griezmann stepped up.

Atletico Madrid has got more into the game as the match has progressed but Real Madrid still deservedly lead 1-0 at halftime.

Real Madrid dominated the opening stages but Atletico are now edging possession and have also had more shots on target three to Madrid"s two.

Atletico goalkeeper Jan Oblak was called into action early on, blocking the ball from point-blank range after a free kick was deflected toward goal by Karim Benzema and Casemiro.

Antoine Griezmann had Atletico"s best chance of the match three minutes from the break when his effort flew just past the left post.

It was Griezmann"s third shot in seven minutes.

Cristiano Ronaldo is bidding to break his own record of Champions League goals scored in a season but it appears to be Gareth Bale"s night instead.

The Wales international won the free kick which led to the opening goal, and headed it on for Sergio Ramos to bundle in.

It is a nightmare night for Atletico forward Fernando Torres, who has only had 10 touches in the first 45 minutes and has completed none of his five passes so far.

Sergio Ramos, whose stoppage-time leveler took the 2014 final to extra time, has put Real Madrid 1-0 up after 15 minutes.

The Real Madrid captain was on hand to bundle in after Gareth Bale flicked on Toni Kroos" free kick.

The Champions League final has kicked off four minutes late.

Award-winning singer-songwriter Alicia Keys is headlining the first-ever live music performance for the opening ceremony.

There are also more than 300 volunteer performers, 12 professional dancers and 100 people who bring in and take away the props in a glitzy 9-minute act.

Andrea Bocelli will sing the Champions League anthem.

The world-famous Italian tenor, who supports Inter Milan, sang at Leicester"s stadium earlier this month before the team was presented with the Premier League trophy.

Both teams are unchanged from their last league fixtures.

Real Madrid: Keylor Navas, Dani Carvajal, Pepe, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Toni Kroos, Casemiro, Luka Modric, Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema. Subs: Kiko Casilla, Nacho, James Rodriguez, Lucas Vazquez, Jese, Isco, Danilo.

Atletico Madrid: Jan Oblak, Filipe Luis, Diego Godin, Stefan Savic, Juanfran, Gabi, Augusto Fernandez, Koke, Saul Niguez, Fernando Torres, Antoine Griezmann. Subs: Miguel Angel Moya, Tiago, Angel Correa, Lucas Hernandez, Yannick Carrasco, Thomas Partey, Jose Maria Gimenez.

Both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid have arrived at the San Siro ahead of the Champions League final.

Atletico which lost to its city rival in the 2014 final is looking for revenge and a first title, while Madrid is bidding to win the tournament for the 11th time.

The pitch is getting a final watering ahead of kickoff at 2045.

The trophy was dropped off earlier following a police escort from Milan"s center, where it had been on display outside the city"s famous cathedral.

There was a friendly atmosphere between both sets of fans in the center and outside the stadium, with supporters in high spirits and happy to pose for pictures with each other.

Most Goals Real Madrid History: Cristiano Ronaldo Approaching Ral ...

Real Madrid vs Granada FULL MATCH ENGLISH COMMENTARY 720p 05/04/2015 BBVA LA LIGA

Cristiano Ronaldo is arguably the best soccer player in the world. But for now, he has his sights set on becoming the best player in Real Madrid history.

At the moment, Ronaldo has 301 career goals as a member of Real Madrid, the third most in team history. Ral Gonzlez holds the all-time scoring record with 323 club goals. The only other player with more goals than Ronaldo at the moment is Alfredo Di Stfano, who scored 305 goals for Real Madrid. Ronaldo is just five goals away from surpassing Stfano for second on the list.

Not only is Ronaldo approaching Stfano for second place on the all-time Real Madrid list, but he is close to passing him for most La Liga goals as well. Ronaldo has scored 215 La Liga goals since coming over from Manchester United in 2009, that"s the eighth most all-time. Only Lionel Messi has more career La Liga goals (277) as an active player.

Ronaldo needs to just one more La Liga goal to tie Stfano, and another 13 goals to tie Gonzlez for most La Liga goals in Real Madrid franchise history. To make things even more interesting and intriguing, Ronaldo currently has 38 La Liga goals this season.

Why is that relevant?

It"s critical because Ronaldo is also 13 goals away from breaking Messi"s single season La Liga scoring record of 50 goals. Messi scored 50 goals in the 2011-12 season for Barcelona. Right now, the magic number for Ronaldo is 13.

Fortunately for Ronaldo, he not only has the ongoing 2015 UEFA Champions League to score, but he also has seven more Spanish League games remaining this year to find the net. Ronaldo is still just 30 years old, and he shows no signs of slowing down. At the rate he is going, Ronaldo will break Gonzlez"s record in less than one year.

Ronaldo has the top three single-season highest scoring outputs in Real Madrid history. Because of this extraordinary accomplishment, he has put himself on a scoring pace that would shatter the Real Madrid scoring record. Ronaldo has also benefited from staying healthy, and being able to play in almost every game for Real Madrid on a consistent basis.

As far as potentially breaking the single season record this year, Ronaldo will need to score 13 goals in the final seven La Liga games. That"s a tough challenge, but Ronaldo is fully capable of doing so.

All Time Real Madrid Scorers:

1. Ral Gonzlez: 323 (228 La Liga)

2. Alfredo Di Stfano: 305 (216 La Liga)

3. Cristiano Ronaldo: 301 (215 La Liga)

4. Carlos Santillana: 289 (186 La Liga)

5. Ferenc Pusks: 242 (156 La Liga)
