Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt Divorce Rumors: Couple Takes "Positive Step" For Future Together, Report Says

Angelina Jolie"s Net Worth ★ Biography ★House ★ Cars ★ Income ★ Pets ★ Helicopter- 2016

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt seemingly shot down divorce rumors after they were spotted indulging in PDA in Los Angeles and spending family time with their twins in West Hollywoodrecently. Now a report by In Touch Weekly magazine said that the Hollywood couple has decided not to part ways after much speculation over their rumored marital troubles.

The magazines report, cited by Gossip Cop, said: Quality time with the kids helps Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie save their marriage.

This was a couple that was on the brink of divorce just a few weeks ago. But over the course of the week surrounding the Fourth of July, Brad and Angie fell back in love, a source told In Touch Weekly.

Even though Brad and Angelina have come to a place of great understanding, they still have a long way to go to overcome their many problems. Theyve taken a very positive step toward a future together and making their marriage better, but theres still a lot to work through, the insider added.

However, according to Gossip Cop, Jolie and Pitt never had any marital troubles to begin with. The rumor debunking website has previously quashed several reports that claimed the A-list couple is headed for a divorce.

Last week, Jolie and Pitt were spotted having family time as they celebrated twins Knox and Viviennes birthday during a low-key outing at a local cafe. A few days later, the couple was spotted getting intimate during an outing in Los Angeles recently. Pictures showed the couple indulging in PDA during a visit to Jamba Juice. Pitt wrapped his arms around Jolie from behind during the day out.

UFC 202 fight card primer: Anthony Johnson vs. Glover Teixeira

Exclusive Interactive 360° Experience: Diaz vs McGregor Faceoff - UFC 202 Weigh-In

Ethan Miller/Getty Images

UFC 202 features a big light heavyweight co-main event between Anthony Johnson and Glover Teixeira. All the details are here in our b****y Elbow primer.

We"ve got an important co-main event on tap tonight at UFC 202, as Anthony Johnson (21-5 MMA, 12-5 UFC) takes on Glover Teixeira (25-4 MMA, 8-2 UFC) in a battle of two of the top light heavyweights in the sport. Both men are coming off vicious 1st round KOs in UFC on FOX main events, and are respectively #1 and #2 in the UFC"s official rankings (with Jon Jones pulled due to his USADA drug test failure).

This fight was originally the UFC on FOX 20 co-main event in Chicago before Rumble had to withdraw due to personal reasons. It turns out we only needed to wait a month for this highly anticipated matchup. UFC 202: Diaz vs. McGregor 2 airs live from Las Vegas this Saturday, August 20. The main card airs on PPV with a fight time of 10:00 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. PT, with the prelims starting at 8:00 p.m. ET/5:00 p.m PT on Fox Sports 1, and 6:30 p.m. ET/ 3:30 p.m. PT for the first three bouts on UFC Fight Pass.

How do these two stack up?

Johnson: 32 years old | 6"2" | 78" reachTeixeira: 36 years old | 6"2" | 76" reach

What have these two done recently?

Johnson: W - Ryan Bader (KO) | W - Jimi Manuwa (KO) | L - Daniel Cormier (SUB)Teixeira: W - Rashad Evans (KO) | W - Patrick Cummins (TKO) | W - Ovince Saint Preux (T. SUB)

Betting odds: (Via Bookmaker.eu)

Johnson: -195Teixeira: +167

How did these two get here?

Johnson has been fantastic at light heavyweight. After years of weight cutting mishaps at welterweight and middleweight, "Rumble" has only had one defeat in this weight class, and that"s against the current champion Daniel Cormier. His vaunted KO power has been on full display against other 205 lbs contenders, including a huge 1st round TKO of Alexander Gustafsson in Gustafsson"s home country of Sweden. Even in his submission loss to Cormier, Johnson knocked DC down in the first 30 seconds, which really shows you just how hard he hits. His last fight saw him dispatch Ryan Bader inside of 90 seconds with a ground-and-pound KO back in January.

Teixeira has also unsuccessfully challenged for the title, losing a one-sided unanimous decision to Jon Jones at UFC 172. A surprisingly lackluster defeat to Phil Davis at UFC 179 handed him his first ever two-fight losing streak. Since the two losses, Teixeira has looked spectacular, recording stoppages in all three of his fights during this winning run. He took a short notice bout against Rashad Evans in April, and walloped Evans with a left hook to destroy the former champion. Teixeira possesses high-level BJJ skills, as Ovince Saint Preux found out in August 2015, and Johnson is historically suspect on the ground. Unlike Rumble, Teixeira has never fought Daniel Cormier, and a win tonight would put him in prime position to get that matchup.

Why should you care?

This will be absolutely thrilling. You have two elite finishers going for a likely shot at the title, and it"s really one of the best (if not the best) light heavyweight fight you could make in the UFC that does NOT involve Jones or Cormier.

Chicago Air and Water Show ready for take-off

Stunt pilots prepare for Chicago Air and Water Show

CHICAGO (WLS) --

The 58th Annual Chicago Air and Water Show got off to a late start on the lakefront Saturday because of a weather delay.

The show was originally set to start at 10 a.m., but scattered storms moving through the area forced the delay until around 11:15 a.m. Free to the public, the official show takes place Saturday and Sunday on Lake Michigan from Fullerton to Oak Street. North Avenue Beach serves as the show"s center.

The show was originally scheduled to end at 3 p.m., but may be extended because of the delay. On Sunday, the show is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

People showed up early to North Avenue Beach prepared for the inclement weather with umbrellas and ponchos.

Organizers said that they have a great show planned and are prepared for the weather. The F-35, Sean Tucker, the U.S. Army Parachute Team Golden Knights and the U.S. Navy Parachute Team Leap Frogs were among the participants on Saturday in an abbreviated show.

Former Bear Charles Tillman was scheduled to jump with the Golden Knights to start the show Saturday, but it was pushed back until Sunday because of the delay.

The Office of Emergency Management is on site for this weekend"s show to monitor the weather conditions and clear the beach when necessary. Air and Water Show Manager John Trick also keeps a close eye on the weather.

"We"re constantly monitoring the weather and we keep tabs on it," Trick said. "Several hours out, we know if it"s going to be a bad storm. We"ve got our emergency plan in place that we can evacuate the beach area."

A crowd of several hundred thousand people is expected this weekend.

"Public safety is number one in our books," said David Kennedy with the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events. "We work with our first responders that are up and down the lakefront. We"ve got a public address system that is also able to reach people. We"ve got an alert system that we can update people if they signed up for that via text for via email."

Announcements will be made at North Avenue Beach for all weather delays.

On Friday, a practice run of the show gave people waiting below on North Avenue Beach a preview of some of the planes, jets, and tricks these pilots can pull off. Every year the air and water show tries to introduce something new to impress the crowd.

"The F-35 is new this year," said Trick. "That"s our new plane that"s making its debut around the country. We"re honored to have it at the Air and Water Show this year. It is probably the most high-tech plane that"s out in the air right now...stealth the armament, all of the advanced warning systems on it at air shows, it"s supposed to be the superior plane in the world right now," and this year is no different.

The Air Force Thunderbirds flew low over the crowd as they planned out this weekend"s runs. Also planned -- a tribute to the Army Golden Knights parachutist Master Sergeant Corey Hood, who died during a jump in last year"s show.

"They"re skilled, it was just a freak accident that happened and the men and women of the military, they put their lives at risk for everything, training shows or in warfare," said Trick.

Johnny James hasn"t missed an Air and Water Show in 40 years.

"It"s summer you better get out there and enjoy because winter"s right around the corner," he said.

Lilly King: Justin Gatlin, Tyson Gay, other U.S. dopers don"t belong in Olympics

2015 100m Champs, Tyson Gay Heat - Universal Sports

RIO DE JANEIRO - Swimming star Lilly King took her crusade against doping to a new level following her victory in the 100-meter breaststroke final, by insisting that American athletes previously banned for drug offenses should have been kicked off the United States team.

King relegated Russia"s Yulia Efimova, a confirmed drug cheat who was controversially reinstated into the Olympic program just hours before competition started last week, to the silver medal after a long war of words regarding whether her rival should have been allowed to swim.

When asked if U.S. athletes who have fallen foul of the drug testers, such as sprinters Justin Gatlin and Tyson Gay, deserved to be in Rio, King, 19, pulled no punches.

"I have to respect (the track authorities") decision even if it is something I don"t necessarily agree with," King said. "No, do I think people who have been caught doping should be on the team? They shouldn"t. It is unfortunate we have to see that.

"It is just something that needs to be set in stone that this is what we are going to do. Let"s settle this and be done with it. There should not be any bouncing back and forwards."

Gatlin and Gay along with their fellow U.S. teammates were disqualifiedin the men"s 4x100 relay on Friday. The team says they will challenge the ruling.

Donald Trump"s campaign chair Paul Manafort just resigned

Donald Trump Campaign Chair Paul Manafort Resigns | MSNBC

Donald Trumps campaign chair Paul Manafort has officially resigned after trying to fix the campaign for two months.

Trump announced the news on Friday morning:

This morning Paul Manafort offered, and I accepted, his resignation from the campaign. I am very appreciative for his great work in helping to get us where we are today, and in particular his work guiding us through the delegate and convention process. Paul is a true professional and I wish him the greatest success.

As my colleague Andrew Prokop explained, Manafort originally came into the Trump campaign to try to bring discipline and professionalism after campaign manager Corey Lewandowskifailed to do either.

But the campaign continued to struggle under Manafort. At one point, Trump earned weeks of negative attention after suggesting that a federal judge should recuse himself from the Trump University case because of his Mexican heritage. And after the convention, Trump got into a bizarre feud with the family of a fallen Muslim veteran.

Meanwhile, Manafort himself has become a story because of his extensive ties to Russian interests. On August 14, the New York Timesreported on a ledger documenting $12.7 million in payments to Manafort from the party of Ukraine"s pro-Russian president at the time, Viktor Yanukovych. Coupled with Trumps weirdly pro-Russian leanings, that news raised a lot of eyebrows.

In Manafort"s place, Trump recently hired Steve Bannon, CEO of the ultra-conservative website Breitbart News, as the new "chief executive" of the campaign.

Bannon will face a huge challenge in trying to turn things around. Trumps campaign is wildly behind Hillary Clinton in the polls. It was not supposed to be this way: As Voxs election model shows, political science models suggests this was supposed to be a winning year for Republicans, but Trump is costing the party nearly 6 points a fatal gap for a presidential candidate.

Watch: This election isnt just Democrat vs. Republican. Its normal vs. abnormal.

Trouble getting the hepatitis A vaccine? Check prescription ... - KHON2

Hepatitis A outbreak in Hawaii
Related Coverage

With an ongoing outbreak, a lot of people have been trying to get the hepatitis A vaccine.

But some are having trouble getting a prescription.

We checked with several pharmacies and a doctor to see why a prescription is needed.

We learned some insurance carriers require a prescription for reimbursement.

Makakilo resident Bernard Judson sayshe was having a hard time getting his hepatitis A vaccination.

Im not trying to get something for nothing. I just dont want to get something, said Judson.

He says it took him three days to get the vaccine. First, he went to a pharmacy and was told they were out. He then went to another one, but didnt have a prescription, so he was told he would have to pay.

I called my insurance company and they gave me the same line: We have this schedule for medications and you have to do certain things and you have to be high risk," he said.

Judson finally went to his doctor and got the vaccination there.

If you dont mind paying out of pocket for the vaccine, you can walk into any pharmacy that carries it without a prescription.

But if you want your insurance to pay for it, thats when you need a prescription.

Its not medically necessary to have a prescription, and in fact vaccine clinics can give a lot of vaccines without a prescription. However, major medical insurers in Hawaii, several of them, require a prescription for reimbursment of this very expensive hepatitis a vaccine, explainedDr. Kalani Brady.

Brady says the vaccines could cost you between $80 and $150 depending on where you go, and remember you need two doses, six months apart.

Safeways pharmacy charges $95 without a prescription. They have been doing approximately 100 vaccinations a day since last week.

Are you finding that most people are coming with a prescription or are they willing to pay out of pocket? KHON2 asked Alanna Isobe, Safeway Kapahulu pharmacy manager.

Most people are getting a prescription, she replied.

HMSA saysitpays for most of itsmembers who have a prescription.Itsays the hepatitis A vaccine is effective, but may not be right for everyone, which is why itwants members to talk to their doctor.

Kaiser Permanente offers the vaccine to their members at no charge. HMAA also covers the vaccine 100-percent for its members.

We also checked with Longs Drugs Pharmacy, which saidif a patient with HMSA HMOis unable to get a prescription, the pharmacycan still administer the vaccine, but wont be able to bill your insurance.

Doctors go digital for patients seeking hepatitis A vaccine

Many are turning to new, high-tech options to get their prescription.

HMSA offers online care to let people use a video call, like Facetime, to talk to a doctor.

Its helpful for those who dont have a primary care physician or cant get in touch with one.

Theres also another video-call option for those without insurance. Doctors on Call Now (DOCNow) is offering peace of mind from your laptop, tablet, even your cell phone.

Patients can video chat with a local doctor about questions for hepatitis A. Non-insured patientspay$49 a visit.

Well talk to you, see what your actual risk is, what your concerns are, and if we think its appropriate, we will electronically submit a prescription to the pharmacy of your choice, explained Dr. Jim Barahal, DOCNow CEO.

Theres a lot of questions that we can answer that pharmacy staff can answer, but there are a lot of questions that really need to be asked by a physician, he added.

DOCNow is open daily from 8 a.m.9 p.m. To receive your first visit free, download the promo code at doctorsoncallnow.com.

Gwen Jorgensen wins U.S." first triathlon gold

Meet two-time World Champion Triathlete, Gwen Jorgensen

Gold: Gwen Jorgensen, United States

Silver:Nicola Spirig, Switzerland

Bronze:Vicky Holland, Great Britain

Every day, triathleteGwen Jorgensen likes to write down three things she did well and three things she could improve upon concerning her chosen sport. On Saturday morning, the American swam well, biked well and ran well. And she also finished well, earning gold by crossing the finish line in1:56:16.

Get to know U.S. triathleteGwen Jorgensen

The triathlon exemplifies the concept of an endurance race. It kicks off with a 1.5km swim (approximately .93 of a mile), followed by 40km of biking (approximately 24.8 miles), and ending with a 10km run (approximately 6.2 miles). Additionally, the transition periods factor into the overall race time. Athletes must train to mount their bikes and slip into their shoes as quickly and efficiently as possible.

The Rio Olympic course hasbeen described as highly technical, with an open water swim givingway to a windy, hilly road.

Almost immediately after the PA announced On your marks, the horn blared and 55 athletes dove into the ocean. The triathletes quickly split into two packs, though within minutes there was a clear succession starting with Spanish leader Carolina Routier. At the 11 minute mark, the United States Katie Zaferes was in second.

Routier, who made her Olympic debut in Rio, was the first to hit the beach in 19:01. Zaferes was right on her heels, landing at 19:03. The biggest margin in the swim leg was about two minutes; by the end of that portion, one triathlete had withdrawn.

The racers completed the transition onto the bikes just before the 20 minute mark. Within just a minute, South Africas Mari Rabie took the lead. But about a half hour into the competition, a number of triathletes remained neck-and-neck. Bermudas Flora Duffy was literally seconds ahead of her nearest competitors, while American favorites Gwen Jorgensen and Sarah True crept toward the front.

As the race approached the 40 minute mark, Jorgensen briefly took the lead. Switzerlands Nicola Spirig the London 2012 gold medalist then passed her, with Jorgensen steady in second. Despite the tough climbs and curvy roads, the athletes kept in a consistent formation.

At around the 47 minute mark and well into the bike leg, Sarah True crashed. Lying on the road, she rubbed a clearly injured leg. The American managed to get back on her bike for a short period, but had to stop again to address her pain. Eventually, she withdrew from the race.

True just missed out on a bronze medal at the London 2012 Olympics, finishing in fourth. Her placement was the highest for an American in either the mens or womens competitions at those Games.

Towards the hour mark, Spirig broke away from the pack and established a lead. Minutes later, Chiles Barbara Riveros Diaz took the lead, while Jorgensen slipped to fifth place. But the sixth lap saw Jorgensen advance to the front.

By the end of the bike leg, it looked as though any of 18 triathletes could earn a medal. Swedens Lisa Norden finished the portion first in 1:21:28, a second ahead of Duffy, the Netherlands Rachel Klamer and Riveros. Jorgensen, also just a second off of Norden, was in 12th place.

It didnt take long for Jorgensen to spearheadthe run. That segmentis her specialty; the American has the fastest run split in womens triathlon history.

An hour and a half into the race, Jorgensen was shoulder-to-shoulder with Spirig; they both completed the first lap in 1:30:02.

Spirig was just ahead of Jorgensen at the start of the second lap, and about 20 seconds ahead of British triathletes Vicky Holland and Non Stanford. The race continued with the two favorites literally inches from one another all the way through the 1:45 mark, at which point a brief, bizarre moment occured.

Spirig slowed down in attempt to force Jorgensen to exert more energy; Jorgensen reacted by slowing down and almost insisted Spirig stay in front. They both sped into the third lap at 1:47:50, with Jorgensen leading by less than a second.

Just before 1:51, Jorgensen blasted pastSpirig by a wide margin. Moments later, the two were separated by close to 10 seconds.

The Americanheld onto her pace and broke the finish line tapein1:56:16. She began to weep as she held the bannerover her head.

Spirig earned silver by with a 1:56:56 time. In a neck-and-neck for bronze, Holland bested her compatriot by seconds, completing the race in 1:57:01.

The U.S. was just three points away from advancing to the gold medal match when Italy rebounded.

Eatman: Even When Zeke Returns, Cowboys Must Find Role For Morris

Cowboys vs. Rams | Post Game Highlights | NFL

ARLINGTON, Texas Missing an entire training camp with an injury is tough enough to come back from. Having to do that, plus beat out a veteran just for the backup spot seems like a daunting task.

But after two preseason games, thats exactly what Darren McFadden and Lance Dunbar are both facing. Because one thing is rather clear:

Alfred Morris is on this football team. And better yet, he needs a significant role, too.

Yeah, I know were all waiting to see what Ezekiel Elliott will do, and next weeks matchup with the Seahawks will provide a great test. And no, Im not suggesting Morris should be the starter for this year.

But he should be the starter for next weeks game. Morris has done everything that has been asked of him and more. To me, hes starting next week for a series or so, and then Elliott comes in for a half.

Thats just how I would do it. Id make the rookie come in and take the job away from someone who has clearly grabbed the position by the horns.

Again, Elliott doesnt need to worry. Hes the No. 4 overall pick and hes going to play, and play a lot, when hes fully healthy.

But for those who wondered just what kind of role Morris would have (And note, Im taking a break from this column to raise both hands because I wasnt sure at all that Morris would fit in), hes proving us all wrong.

In Friday nights 41-14 win over the Dolphins, Morris put up some impressive numbers in one half, rushing for 85 yards on 13 attempts (6.5 average). His longest run was just 20 yards, although he had another 20-yard touchdown run called back because of a procedure penalty.

On both runs to the end zone, Morris juked, cut, alluded, bounced and plunged just about everything to get into the end zone without any of it looking rather pretty. Then again, who needs a pretty running back? Jason Garretts definition of dirty yards is exactly what Morris all about.

Whats so great about Morris is that nothing is great. Hes just good at a lot of things. Hes a good inside runner, but not with a ton of power. Hes got quick feet, but obviously not great speed. Hes not a pass-catcher and hes not a great blocker.

But hes just good. And sometimes good is great, especially for what will eventually be a backup role.

To me, from what Ive noticed about Morris in the few months hes been with the Cowboys, is how different he is from other players. And by different, its certainly refreshing. His perspective is unlike other players.

A sixth-round pick of the Redskins in 2012 out of Florida Atlantic, Morris went to Washington just hoping he could make the Redskins practice squad. He started in Week 1. Once he won the job, Morris admitted he was just trying to keep the position and was so afraid someone might take it. Instead, he rushed for over 1,600 yards and made the Pro Bowl. And then made it again.

That feeling of never taking things for granted is probably the reason he still drives the only car hes ever owned a 1991 Mazda 626. Thats right, five years into the NFL and hes still driving a car 25 years old, just two years younger than him.

Once in training camp, a reporter asked him about taking advantage of McFadden and Dunbar, and then Elliott, all being out with injury. Instead of acknowledging the extra reps, Morris corrected the reporter.

No, I want them to come back, soon. When they come back, itll be better competition. And competition makes us better.

And if youre thinking thats just lip service, with this guy it isnt. Morris is one of those happy-go-lucky players who doesnt seem worried about too many things he cant control. Lets not mistake that for someone who isnt serious about his craft, though.

I remember back in the summer he told me that hes not a complete running back yet. He said he needs to get better as a receiver and blocker. But, he added that he signed with Dallas to get the opportunity to do just that.

Now, even Morris couldnt have known three tailbacks would be out for most of camp and hed be left, along with rookie Darius Jackson, to get nearly every rep. He has caught the ball a little better, although he had a drop on the first offensive series.

h**l probably never develop into a great pass-catcher and dont look for him to blow anyone up like a fullback. But at this point in his career, Morris has shown thats he pretty good when he runs the football.

So good that the Cowboys must find a role for him, regardless of what the rest of the running back depth chart looks like.

Elizabeth Smart on Her Captivity: "p*********y Made My Living h**l Worse"

Elizabeth Smart: Days consisted of rape

The man who held Elizabeth Smart captive when she was a teenager regularly looked at p*********y, which "just led to him raping me more," the now 28-year-old woman says in a new video.

"He would just sit and look at it and stare at it, and he would just talk about these women, and then when he was done, he would turn and look at me, and he would be like, "Now we"re going to do this,"" Smart said of her convicted abductor, Brian David Mitchell.

The video, posted to YouTube on Friday, was produced by Fight the New Drug, an anti-p**n non-profit group.

Mitchell kidnapped Smart, clad in her pajamas, from her Salt Lake City bed in 2002, when she was 14. He chained her to a makeshift campsite in the mountains only miles from her home, where his wife, Wanda Eileen Barzee, was waiting for them. Mitchell raped Smart over and over again for the next nine months while her family frantically searched for her. She was recognized and rescued on a Sandy, Utah, street in March 2003.

Smart has become an outspoken child safety activist since her ordeal and has publicly talked about it extensively. But Friday was the first time she delved into the role p*********y played in what she called "the longest nine months of my life."

From the Archives: "I Was Broken Beyond Repair," Smart Tells NBC News

"Looking at p*********y wasn"t enough for him. Having s*x with his wife after looking at p*********y wasn"t enough for him," she said, simply referring to Mitchell as her "captor" during the 5-minute, 15 -second video, and never mentioning him by name. "He just always wanted more."

She said every time she thought she had "hit rock bottom, my captor would find something new to make it worse."

Elizabeth Smart speaks about p*********y"s role In her abduction. Fight the New Drug

One time, she said, Mitchell forced her to drink so much alcohol, she passed out. She woke up face-down on the ground, vomit crusted in her hair.

"And I remember waking up that moment and thinking, how can it get any lower than this?"

A few days later, it did.

"My captor was really excited and really kind of amped up about something, and he said, "Oh, you know, I have something and I"m going to show it to you, and you have to look at it,"" Smart said.

Mitchell then pulled out a "magazine full of hard-core p*********y," she said.

"It just led to him raping me more, more than he already did which was a lot," she said.

"I can"t say that he would not have gone out and kidnapped me had he not looked at p*********y. All I know is that p*********y made my living h**l worse."

Smart was rescued in March of 2003. She has said her strong Mormon faith, plus returning to the activities that brought her joy before her kidnapping, such as playing the harp, have helped her process her trauma.

74KG Preview: Jordan Burroughs Weight

74 KG Finals - Jordan Burroughs (Sunkist Kids) vs. David Taylor (NLWC)
The Contenders#1Jordan Burroughs (USA)#2Ainuar Geduev (RUS)#3Hassan Yazdani Charati (IRI)

Jordan Burroughs is the reigning world champion and Olympic gold medalist, but he is not the same wrestler he was four years ago. Additionally, this is not the same field. With a different group of opponents operating under a different set of rules, it will be a tremendous challenge to Burroughs" greatness

Mike Mal did an excellent job breaking down Geduev as you will see later today.

Last year in Vegas, I was explaining that Hassan Yazdani Charati scared me because he might give Burroughs a tough match. Fast forward to August 19th and we are liable to find out.

Yazdani Charati does a greatjob of moving his foe around, maybe even better than Burroughs, He will immediately push pressure on them from an underhook and seems to be able to get pushouts at will. He can"t attack legs like Burroughs, but when you are able to wrestle your opponents in a phone booth, you often don"t have to shoot.

Yazdani avenges loss to Tsabolov

Dark Horses#9 Narsingh Yadav#10 Bekzod Abdurakhmonob (UZB)#11 Zelimkhan Khadjiev (FRA)

No wrestler has had a crazier road to Rio than Narsingh Yadav. The Indian star was sabotaged by multiple time world and Olympic medalist Sushil Kumar. Yadav was originally ruled out after his positive test, but was later cleared by India"s National Anti-Doping Agency because of sabotage on the part of Kumar. Someone in Kumar"s camp tainted Yadav"s food with PEDs.

This weight has more than one American to watch as former Clarion star Bekzod Abdurakhmonov makes his Olympic debut. His folkstyle background and unorthodox style make him one of the most unpredictable athletes in the weight class.

Abdurakhmonov wins world bronze

Khadjiev is a wild card. He was the guy up big on Yadav when the lefty headlock came screaming around. Khadjiev had Burroughs in a 3-0 hole before getting teched. He can"t get through Geduev or Burroughs, but Khadjiev can scrap with anyone. Combine Russian training with a purposeful attacking approach and you have a terrifying presence good enough of being the third best wrestler in this weight.

How Burroughs Can MedalThe double leg is not the only shotin Burrough"s arsenal. He is now more patient with it and will score a pushout if he has to so as to keep the points coming and the pressure on his opponent. But in the tournaments leading up to Rio, Burroughs was working on a low ankle attack a la John Smith.

The leglace he has developed the past two years is turning in wrestling"s worst kept secret. Part of why Burroughs is more accepting to take stepouts is because he knows how much his par terre has improved. Being able to turn any takedown into the end of match is very intimidating.

Burroughs" preternatural confidence carries him to victory. He is the hardest working wrestler on Team USA, and it shows when he needs a takedown late in a match. It shows when he knee blocks to prevent a takedown. It shows when he clears an underhook.

Every year that Burroughs has won a world or Olympic title, he has gone through an Iranian to do it. I see no reason for that to change at the the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Titanfall 2 release date and beta sign up: New details set for PS4 and Xbox One reveal

Titanfall 2 Beta Xbox One | Multiplayer | EN VIVO

While the Titanfall 2 beta sign up page launched late in July, fans are still waiting to hear more on when they can expect the server tests to begin.

It is now being reported that an announcement will made very soon and it is believed that it could start rolling during the Gamescom expo.

The last Titanfall 2 beta update came in early August, when developers Respawn Entertainment confirmed that they were almost ready to bring you the Open MP Tech Test.

The upcoming multiplayer experience is designed to help developers Respawn Entertainment work out various aspects of the game and its online infrastructure ahead of the Titanfall 2 release dateon October 28.

Matchmaking has been the latest feature the development team have been talking about, recently confirming that after every match, players will drop into their Network, be able to change loadouts at any time, review their match performance and stats, and get ready for the next game.

The Titanfall 2 team say The flow is still similar to our last game, but the mechanisms behind the scenes are completely rearchitected.

Respawn has already committed to running fast servers with low latency, employing UK-based hosting company Multiplay, to help ensure quality.

We have been working with them as they built a brand new service for spinning up servers on a variety of hosting services in a way that both scales at the highest rates and also provides the quality of experience that we demand, a message from Respawn confirms.

This isn"t something that EA had already built - it"s an entirely new system that no game has used before, and Respawn felt strongly that we should work with Multiplay to build this new service to meet our needs.

Our goal here is to have the highest server reliability and to make sure we can handle the wall of users coming on launch.

The first Titanfall2 multiplayer gameplay event has be scheduled at Gamescom on August 16; fans can tune in using the games official Twitch channel.

Tory Lanez "I Told You" Album Review: 6 Best Songs From Debut Project

Tory Lanez on “I Told You”, Being Homeless, and Calling Fans (Full Interview) | BigBoyTV

After releasing more than 10 mixtapes since 2009 and an EP in 2015, Tory Lanez has finally released his debut album, I Told You, Friday. Hailing from Toronto, many see the singer-rapper as someone who is following in the steps of Drake, but as Tory Lanez tells us on I Told You, he worked hard to get to where he is now.

While Lanez, 24,isnt a fan of Drake, its hard to not compare the two, especially on I Told You. Mixing singing and rapping, Lanez even tries his hand atdancehall with Luv. Even though Lanez is able to blendmultiple styles of music including R&B and trap-sounding hip-hop, it seems that Lanez has yet to find his ownstyle. At times on I Told You, Lanez can sound like Future or Fetty Wap while on other songs, such as Question Is, Lanez can be himself. The album is also bogged down by its lengthy tracklist which features 28 tracks (14 songs and 14 skits).

Save for a few standout tracks, Lanezs debut offering is a largely forgettable one but while I Told You isnt Lanezs best effort, the best songs on the album prove the Canadian artist has what it takes to craft another hit.

1. Say It

Tory Lanezs sampling of Brownstones 1994 R&B classic If You Love Me has proven to be a major hit for the singer and easily the best track on Lanezs debut album. From the awesome production to Lanezs sultry vocals, Lanez is at his best when he takes the R&B route.

2. Luv

Tory Lanezs second album single also makes use of a 1990s classic, this time sampling Tanto Metro and Devontes dancehall classic, Everyone Falls In Love. Just like he didwith Say It, when Lanez sticks to singing, he is one of the best artists in R&B.

3. Friends With Benefits

What makes Friends With Benefits stand out from the other songs on I Told You is the excellent production. With its constant pauses, static and screams, Friends With Benefits is reminiscent of The Weeknds The Hills.

4. Question Is

With production by Cardo, Yung Exclusive and Kanye West, Tory Lanez makes use of a smooth beat to give us a view into his life which includes a strained relationship with his family, unborn children and a friend who did him wrong. But the real star of the show in Question Is is singer Briana Cash who delivers an excellent hook.

5. To D.R.E.A.M.

Even though Tory Lanez is better suited as a singer, his rapping is nothing to scoff at. On To D.R.E.A.M., Tory proves that he can hang with many of todays rappers and does his best Fetty Wap impression on what is one the albums best hooks.

6. Flex

Like the songs title suggests, Flex is all about Tory flexing (showing off) on all of his haters and doubters. Mixing singing and rapping, Flex has a chance to be a hit single for Lanez.

ZENDAYA’S EPIC DANCE BATTLE WITH SPIDER-MAN CASTMATES!

They tried to pass her off as just a character called Michelle but, like all good comic book personas, she has a secret identity.

Fans have been speculating for some time who Zendaya would be playing after being described as a "key role" and given the name Michelle.

It has been common recently for those creating films from beloved comic books to give code names to characters to keep the casting and storyline under wraps.

But The Wrap has claimed to have cracked the code thanks to two separate insiders working on the film, which is due out next summer.

The website reports a recent table read of the script saw several big hints dropped that Michelle is actually Spider-Man/Peter Parker"s longtime love Mary Jane.

Golden Goal: David Beckham for Man Utd against Wimbledon (1996)

Manchester United vs Chelsea 2-1 Highlights (UCL) 2010-11 HD 720p

Goals change games. Occasionally, they change lives. Mario Gtze, Toto Schillaci, Michael Thomas and hundreds of others would confirm that as would David Beckham. Wednesday was the 20th anniversary of his goal from the halfway line against Wimbledon, a fork in the road that led to him becoming a cultural icon first and a footballer second. Probably an ambassador third.

Most goals that change lives do so because of their brilliance and especially their importance. They might win a World Cup or Golden Boot or a league title. Beckhams came on the opening day of the season, in a match that was already over. The impact stemmed almost entirely from the audacity and originality of the goal. Even Pel hadnt been able to do it.

Although players had scored from inside their own half before, Beckham brought the genre into the mainstream and rocketed himself towards superstardom. I couldnt have known it then, but that moment was the start of it all: the attention, the press coverage, the fame, he wrote in his autobiography, My Side. When my foot struck that ball, it kicked open the door to the rest of my life.

The joy of Becks

David Beckham was not born with golden b***s. His hero was Glenn Hoddle but he had just as much in common with Kevin Keegan, a self-made great. From the moment he first laid boot on ball, wrote Sir Alex Ferguson in My Autobiography, David Beckham displayed an unbreakable urge to make the best of himself and his talent.

Although Beckham was a key part of the Manchester United team that won the FA Youth Cup in 1992, he was not high on the list of those expected to make it: Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Nicky b**t, the Neville brothers and two other wingers, Ben Thornley and Keith Gillespie, were all rated above him. Nor was he in the England Under-18 squad that so charmingly won the European Championship of 1993. Obstacles that would have broken so many other players had no impact on Beckham; in more ways than one, he spent his United career doing what others said he couldnt. In the film The Class of 92, b**t says Beckham is as mentally tough as anybody youll ever, ever, ever meet.

He generally played in the centre of midfield in the youth team, spraying Hollywood passes and receiving almighty bollockings from the coach Eric Harrison when he got them wrong and charging optimistically from box to box. Beckham could not only could run all day and all night but wanted to do so: when he was an apprentice at United, living in digs after moving to Manchester on his own at the age of 15, he would train in the morning and afternoon and then turn up in the evening to join in with the schoolboys.

Ferguson eased Beckham into the first team on the right-hand side of midfield, away from the muck and bullets. He made his debut as a substitute in the League Cup at Brighton in 1992, when he was 17, but did not appear in the league until 1995. A series of events that year opened doors for Beckham. Gillespie, a revelation in his early first-team appearances, was sold to Newcastle as part of the deal to sign Andy Cole; the only reason Ferguson let him go was because of the foreigner rule in the Champions League, not knowing it would be abolished later in the year. Then Andrei Kanchelskis moved to Everton in mysterious and sinister circumstances. Darren Anderton turned down the chance to replace him, and Nottingham Forest would not sell Steve Stone.

That left Beckham competing with Lee Sharpe, an unnatural and reluctant right winger, and he was a regular by the end of the 1995-96 season as United overhauled Newcastles huge lead on the way to winning the Double. He scored the winner against Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final and two goals in the 5-0 victory over Nottingham Forest that helped tip Keegan over the edge. There was also a thrilling stamp of class in league goals against Chelsea and particularly the defending champions Blackburn, a chip on the turn that left Ferguson running around the dugout in his suit, eyes ablaze like a man who had seen a trailer for the next 10 years.

Beckham was nowhere near the Euro 96 squad only the Neville brothers made it from the whole United team, never mind just the Class of 92 and spent his summer on holiday in Sardinia, eating pasta every day and bathing in the realisation that he was now a bona fide Manchester United player.

Related: Golden Goal: Cristiano Ronaldo for Manchester United v Arsenal (2009) | Rob Smyth

While he was away, Karel Poborsky was wowing Ferguson with his performances on the wing for the Czech Republic at Euro 96. He gave Paolo Maldini a serious chasing in the win over Italy and beat Portugal in the quarter-final with that ingenious scoop. His hair may well get on my nerves if I sign him, wrote Ferguson in his season diary, but he can definitely play.

This is not to say Ferguson did not have plans for Beckham; he was ahead of the rest of the country in his use of rotation, and bought five players that summer the others were Ronny Johnsen, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Jordi Cruyff and Raimond van der Gouw to strengthen his pool with a heavy schedule in mind. Its about going for the Triple! he chirped in Skys pre-season advert.

Whatever Fergusons plans were, Beckham soon altered them. In the Charity Shield against Newcastle, Ferguson named the same side that had started the FA Cup final which meant no place for Poborsky or Cruyff. United slaughtered Newcastle 4-0 and Beckham, both on the wing and in the centre after an injury to b**t, was electric. He made two and scored a fine lob. His joyous celebration might seem excessive given the status of the game, until you remember that Beckham was a football nut who had just scored at Wembley for the first time. In the early part of his career, Beckham celebrated all his goals in the same way, with a boyish smile that reflected his disbelief that he was scoring goals for Manchester United. Innocence is finite; Beckhams would die within the week.

Six days after the Charity Shield, United started the season against Wimbledon at Selhurst Park. Beckham was trying out some new footwear; having heard good things about Predator boots, he asked Adidas to send him some. The only ones they had in his size had been made for the Rangers midfielder Charlie Miller and had CHARLIE embroidered on the red foldover tongue. The United players took great pleasure in taking the p**s out of Beckham before the match.

Then they took the p**s out of Wimbledon. The game was, as Roy Keane put it, a stroll in the sun. Keane, who had just started a six-year period in which he easily was the best player in England, produced a performance of complete authority, leaving Vinnie Jones panting in his slipstream in the build-up to Eric Cantonas opening goal and creating the second for Denis Irwin. With United 2-0 up and the match petering out, the debutant Cruyff spotted Sullivan off his line and tried to chip him from distance. Had it been on target, he would probably have scored.

Class of 92: watch David Beckham, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs talk about playing for Manchester United

The match was in injury time when Efan Ekoku was tackled by Johnsen. The ball came to Brian McClair, who poked it a few yards forward to Beckham near the halfway line. He let the ball run past him, looked up to see Sullivan well off his line, and thought: Why not?

Beckham had developed a unique ball-striking technique: standing foot planted at an angle very close to the ball, left arm thrown to the side, and the right foot coming through the ball like a lumberjacks axe. When he crossed the ball he would whip around it or drive it with the top of the foot, yet his goal at Wimbledon was more of a sidefooted drive. He passed it into the net from 55 yards. His precision was such that it hit the back of the net on the full. He practised that in training every single day, said Gary Neville, striking the ball towards a goal from the halfway line.

The story goes that, as Beckham shaped to shoot, Ferguson said Trust him! In Fergusons diary of the season, he says it was Brian Kidd. Either way, the reaction that meant so much to Beckham was that of Cantona, who was both an idol and a team-mate to the Class of 92. When he said, Good goal, David, it was like receiving approval from on high.

Nobody could recall a similar goal in English football. There were some that had a bit in common, most notably Nayim against Arsenal, but none where a player had deliberately lobbed a goalkeeper from inside his own half. Pel had just missed with a similar attempt against Czechoslovakia in the 1970 World Cup; for most, that was the only reference point. Later that season, when discussing Beckhams burgeoning fame, the England manager, Glenn Hoddle, said a lot of things may be relayed back to the Pel situation.

Beckham raises his hands after scoring from the halfway line against Wimbledon in 1996. Photograph: Getty Images

In August 1996, the information superhighway was in its infancy, so few people knew that a young Rivaldo had changed his own life by scoring from the halfway line in 1993, and that Albacetes Uruguayan midfielder Jos Luis Zalazar had done it more than once. Jordi Cruyff remembered Zalazar, and mentioned him in post-match interviews, but the history lesson fell on deaf ears: the story was that a good-looking English kid had done what Pel could not, and no b****y Albacete midfielder with a foot like a traction engine was going to get in the way of that.

Theres no argument David Beckhams unbelievable strike will be the goal of the season, said the News of the World. The only debate is whether it is the greatest goal ever. That may look silly now, but at the time it was a fairly common view. You have seen the goal of the season already, announced Ferguson. I have never seen it done before. Pel is the only one who came close to doing the same. Nayim? That was a miskick. But Beckham? It was marvellous. A truly tremendous strike. When you have a shot like he has, it will always be worth a try.

In the 20 years since, every Tom, d**k and Xabi has tried it and many have succeeded. It isnt a surprise anymore and nor should it be, given the ball-striking ability of modern players. But back then it was a huge thing, which meant a Malcolm Nashish celebrity for the keeper Sullivan. It got worse when, four days later, David Batty also made a Gilbert out of Sullivan by lobbing him from 40 yards. Sullivan kept watching Beckhams goal on VHS to see if he could have done anything differently. Eventually he got bored and taped over it with EastEnders.

Centre of attention

Good evening. Its only 47 days since Euro 96. I still think the Germans were lucky. Thats how Des Lynam started the first Match of the Day of the 1996-97 season. They were optimistic times in English football; Euro 96 had completed the gentrification and glamourisation of the game that started at Italia 90, Cool Britannia was still going strong, and Fabrizio Ravanelli and Gianluca Vialli signed from the European champions Juventus led the list of exciting foreign additions.

The context contributed to the impact of Beckhams goal. English football was full of brilliant young players and Beckham became the face of that generation. After the match, Ferguson blocked him from doing a Match of the Day interview. He had successfully sheltered Ryan Giggs from the limelight but Beckham was different, and from that moment Ferguson was fighting a losing battle in attempting to control the uncontrollable. When Beckham did his first press conference a fortnight later while on England duty, Ferguson was apparently furious. A few months later, after a team night out at the cinema, Ferguson was appalled to see that Beckham was all over the tabloids - because he had worn a pair of glasses.

David Beckham during England training in February 1997. Photograph: Darren Walsh / Action Images

He is a footballer, Hoddle said at that first press conference. h**l get paid the rest of his life, and get acclaimed, for what he does on the football pitch, not off it. Those things spin off because you are playing well on the pitch for the next 10 years, not the next 10 months. Its easy to sneer with hindsight, but the comments were entirely sensible not even Mystic Meg could have envisaged the level of fame that Beckham would subsequently achieve.

At that time, he was just a kid from the East End made good. He was earning 2,000 a week at United and found out England about his call-up on Teletext while at his parents house. In the next year he signed a new contract at United and lucrative deals with, among others, Adidas and Brylcreem. And he met Victoria Adams.

The goal did not just raise Beckhams profile; it gave him a long-lasting injection of confidence and swagger; his part in Poborskys gorgeous goal against Leeds at the start of September was indicative of a player who had taken a shortcut from promising to seriously good. He kept trying things, they kept coming off, and the whole thing perpetuated itself throughout one of the happiest seasons of his career.

David Beckham, Alan Shearer and Peter Beardsley at the PFA Awards in April 1997. Photograph: Michael Stephens/PA

With the exception of the Treble year, this was easily his best campaign at United. He won the Young Player of the Year award and finished second to Alan Shearer in the senior award. It was also the only time he won the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award at United. But he didnt, as everybody predicted, win Goal of the Season: that went to Trevor Sinclair for his staggering overhead kick against Barnsley.

Beckham could have had his personal Goal of the Season competition. Few players have ever produced such a portfolio of belters in one campaign: aside from Wimbledon, personal favourites are the improvised chip at West Ham, the rasper against Liverpool and the swirling matchwinner at Spurs. There were also memorable free-kicks and a 98mph volley at Chelsea when he knew Victoria Adams was in the crowd. He met her for the first time after the game.

United won the league with 75 points, the lowest total of the Premier League era. They were distracted by an intrepid run to the European Cup semi-finals, which they achieved despite losing three of their group games. Playing in Europe, said Beckham, was a bit like learning football all over again. With Keane and b**t injured for parts of the season, Beckham played many of his matches in central midfield including big wins over Arsenal, home and away, Porto and Liverpool. Almost everybody saw that as his long-term position. His dynamic running and long-range shooting led to comparisons with Sir Bobby Charlton from Charlton himself. The subtlety of his passing and his ability to impose himself on games led many to anoint him as the heir to Paul Gascoigne

At that stage Paul Scholes struggled to get into the United team and was slowly being changed from a No10 to a No8 by Ferguson. Beckham was recognised more for his passing than his crossing occasionally they blended into one, as with the glorious assist against Rapid Vienna in the European Cup) and it was only the following season, when Poborsky was sold and Scholes became a regular, that Beckham started to become an assist monster on the wing.

There are plenty who think Beckham would never have made a central midfielder. Its a questionable appraisal. When he played there on a semi-regular basis for the only time in 1996-97, and was still young enough to maraud up and down the pitch rather than sit as a quarterback, he excelled. He was also Manchester Uniteds best player in that position in the 1999 Champions League final. His defensive awareness and short-passing game needed a little development, but then its reasonable to assume they would have developed had he stayed in that position.

The suspicion is that, with his passing, driving runs and indefatigability, his shooting and his desire to dominate games, he would have been a brilliant central midfielder. He was an even better winger, however, and quickly became typecast. Theres a lot of tedious revisionism about how good Beckham was, but there has never been a better crosser of the ball and for most of his Manchester United career he was magnificent. Its easy to forget that he was runner-up in the Ballon dOr in 1999 and twice in the Fifa World Player of the Year award.

Though there was and is considerable mutual affection, his relationship with Ferguson became increasingly strained as his celebrity grew. David was the only player I managed who chose to be famous, said Ferguson, who made it his mission to be known outside the game.

In the second half of the 1999-2000 season he was omitted from a huge game at Leeds after reporting late for training because his son Brooklyn was ill, and then came the first of many front-page haircuts a shaven head that he unveiled at Leicester. Beckham wore a beanie the night before, even during the team meal in a restaurant, which prompted Ferguson to have his own Tony Soprano moment and tell him to take it off . Beckham declined. The next day Ferguson told him that, if he didnt take it off for the warm-up, he wouldnt be playing. At that stage, said Ferguson, I was starting to despair of him.

Beckham eventually left in 2003, a few months after the dressing-room incident that left him with a cut above the eye. Ferguson was tired of the circus; more importantly, he was content that he had a superior replacement in Solskjaer, who had usurped Beckham during the 2002-03 season. His crossing was excellent, his goal threat greater and his Thomas Mller-like movement suited the way Ferguson wanted to develop his team. Uniteds lost years of 2003-06 might have been a bit different had Solskjaer not suffered a dreadful injury at the start of the first post-Beckham season.

Ferguson thinks Beckhams lifestyle denied him the chance to become absolute top-dog player. That may be so, though even Beckham probably doesnt know the extent to which his lifestyle impacted upon his career. And what has happened since brings to mind the old story about George Best and the hotel waiter: Mr Beckham, where did it all go wrong?

In 2016, if you type Beckham and Wimbledon into Google, the first results you get are about his trip to the tennis along with other celebrities like Beyonce, Cliff Richard and Heidi Klum. His A-list status at SW19 can be traced back to one kick of a ball in SE25, a moment that changed his life forever.

Civilians caught up in Aleppo cluster bomb attacks

Little boy in Aleppo a vivid reminder of war"s horror

Cluster bomb attacks on rebel-held areas of Aleppo have killed nine civilians and sent thousands of others fleeing.

The widely proscribed cluster munitions were used in the bombardment of rebel-held areas of Aleppo"s Masshad, Salaheddine and Sukkary after midday prayers on Friday.

Those killed were women and children on a minibus, trying to leave the areas hardest hit by the strikes. At least 20 more people have been wounded in the attacks.

Images obtained by Al Jazeera show unexploded cluster bomblets lying around the city as civilians walk nearby.

The use of the weapons, which scatter hundreds of bomblets over a vast area, has forced thousands of residents to take the risky journey out of the city through areas of intense fighting between government troops and rebel fighters.

Eliot Higgins, a journalist who specialises in the analysis of munitions used in the Syrian conflict, said the bomblet pictured in one image was the ShOAB-05 - a Russian-produced munition.

The bomblet contains a 70-gramme mixture of TNT and RDX explosives lined with more than 304 steel pellets, according to a blog post by munitions expert N R Jenzen-Jones.

DIY defusing efforts

Lacking the means to defuse the explosives, rebel fighters in Aleppo are trying to detonate the bomblets from a distance by taking pot shots at the munitions with assault rifles.

One child was seen riding a bicycle over an unexploded bomblet, stumbling and injuring himself without the device detonating.

British aid worker Tauqir Sharifposted a video of six young children being rushed to hospital with injuries sustained during a cluster bomb attack.

"So many people are dying that I"ve lost count. I have seen so many dead in the past five days that every time I close my eyes I see their faces," Sharif, whose ambulance was damaged in a separate attack, said.

Widespread ban

The use of cluster bombs is banned by more than 100 countries which cite the weapon"s inability to distinguish between combatants and civilians, as well as the large amount of unexploded bomblets that are left behind.

Human Rights Watch has condemned the Russian and Syrian governments for their use of the weapons and has documented at least 47 cluster bomb attacks in three provinces between May 27 and July 25 this year.

"Since Russia and Syria have renewed their joint air operations, we have seen a relentless use of cluster munitions," HRW"s Ole Solvang said in a report published in July.

Neither Syria nor Russia have ratified the 2008 Convention on Cluster Munitions, which prohibits the use of the weapon.

Intense battles

Syrian government forces and their Russian allies have intensified aerial attacks on Aleppo after opposition fighters broke a siege of rebel areas of the city earlier in August.

Aleppo was Syria"s largest city and commercial centre before the start of the conflict in 2011.

Syrian rebels control a swath of territory that includes the city"s eastern and southern areas, as well as the surrounding countryside.

The Syrian government controls the city"s west as well as a northern corridor connecting it to government territories.

Syria"s war has claimed at least 400,000 lives and forced millions from their homes.

Why Jordan Burroughs doesn"t want a LeBron moment

Olympic Wrestling Trials | Andrew Howe vs Jordan Burroughs, Match 1 | Full Match
Jordan Burroughs will try to defend his 2012 gold medal in wrestling. (AP)

Medal count | Olympic schedule | Olympic news

RIO DE JANEIRO Imagine you are an Olympic athlete. Youve tortured your body for decades, fine-tuning it for that one moment when everything is on the line, when all that work and sweat and sacrifice come down to a few brief moments in some arena halfway around the world.

There are the early wake-ups calls and the demanding practices and the injuries. There are the strange beds in foreign lands, unfamiliar food, someone who always seems to want a piece of your time.

Imagine youve gone through all that and and youve finally done it. Youve won a gold medal.

It would be, it seems logical, a moment of sheer exultation. And, for a brief, fleeting moment, it is. And then, well, let someone who has lived that explain it.

American Jordan Burroughs is the reigning gold medalist in freestyle wrestling in the 74-kilogram weight division. From his earliest days, all he could think of was winning an Olympic gold medal.

[Related:Olympian Gary Russell has an odd plan if he hits it big as a pro boxer]

He went to a New Jersey high school that couldnt even afford singlets for all of the team members. Burroughs was a 135-pounder in high school and had to share a singlet with the teams 119-pounder.

Im gritty because of [my upbringing], Burroughs said. I recognize Ive been on both sides of the track. Ive been in a high school gym with very few fans. Now, Im at the Olympic Games. When I was in high school, we had 14 guys on the team and only 10 singlets. When our 119-pounder would wrestle, hed have to take his singlet off in the locker room and give it to me at 135 so I could wrestle.

We didnt have enough uniforms for our entire team and now Im getting thousands of dollars of free gear on the biggest stage in the world.

Hes won just about everything there is to win. He won 69 consecutive matches on the senior level, an American record. Hes won the world championship and the World Cup and just about everything else.

It all led to that pursuit of gold in London. Burroughs created the Twitter handle@AllISeeIsGold, and the night before he wrestled in London, he tweeted, My next tweet will be a picture of me holding that Gold medal!!!

It wasnt cockiness Burroughs might be the most down-to-earth, least cocky athlete among the 500-plus the U.S. sent to Brazil but more a reflection of his belief that hed done all that could be done to win.

After Burroughs won the gold, though, he had an epiphany of sorts. It wasnt clutching the medal against his chest, allowing his closest friends and family members hold it and take photos with it.

Hed reached the pinnacle and suddenly, the exultation was gone. The next Olympics, he realized, were four years away and there was work to be done.

I tell these guys all the time, he said of his Olympic teammates, its really not about the winning. Its about the pursuit. You spend every waking moment preparing for a particular event. Its almost like Christmas. You say, I cant wait until Christmas. I want to open my presents early. Mom, Dad, what did you get me? Ive got to see it. The presents are under the tree. Let me open it. But once you open them and you play with them, you realize, its over. There are 364 days until the next event. For us, its over a thousand days to the next Olympics.

I dont want to have an Olympic hangover. I want to have a peacefulness within me that understands, You enjoy every single moment of these Games. You soak it all in. You eat it up. You hope for the best. But Ive got a family that reminds me there is a lot more to do between now and Tokyo, [which ishosting the 2020 Games].

Because of his sport, hes never going to collect dozens of gold medals like Michael Phelps. Hes never going to have the fame of a LeBron James, whose entire adult life has played out on live television.

But he wants to make his mark on these Games and the Olympics in general in a very Burroughs sort of way.

There are very few singular moments throughout an athletes career that puts him in a place forever, Burroughs said. I keep going back to LeBron James [in the 2016 NBA Finals], being down 3-1, going back to Cleveland, playing against the reigning MVP and the reigning NBA champions. When everyone counted him out, he won. That singular moment cemented him as a legend.

People appreciated LeBron for a long time, though he was a great athlete and a great player. But now, hes a leader. Hes one of the best players of all time. Thats subjective and arbitrary. Like, I dont know. Maybe there are people who think Im the hots. Thats all up to personal opinion. But for people who think I am, I want to give them something to cheer for.

The last thing, he wants, however, is to have those fans on their feet, roaring, as he mounts a furious late rally to win.

That was OK for James and his story, coming back to win three consecutive games to claim a world title for a city that had gone a half-century without one, but thats not what Burroughs has in mind.

In that sense, he doesnt want his own LeBron moment.

[Related:Shakur Stevenson, U.S. boxings best chance at gold, beats Brazilian favorite]

Hopefully, Im not down, he said. Hopefully I lead the entire Games, all four matches. I want to dominate. I dont want to wrestle to my opponents. I dont want to just win. I really think the reason Phelps is so cool, and Katie Ledecky and all these different athletes, is that they just dont win. They dominate. They break records. They do it consistently. Domination, consistency: Put those together and youre a legend.

It was suggested to him that hes wired the same way they are, that hes the kind who will dominate round after round, match after match, meet after meet and year after year.

Burroughs grinned broadly.

I am, the reigning gold medalist said, shaking his head affirmatively. I am.

Former Husker Jordan Burroughs seeking rare back-to-back golds

Olympic Wrestling Trials | Andrew Howe vs Jordan Burroughs, Match 2 | Full Match

RIO DE JANEIRO Jordan Burroughs chance of adding to his legacy has arrived.

The former Husker will try Friday to become the first freestyle wrestler since 1992 to win back-to-back Olympic gold medals.

Burroughs, the favorite in the 74-kilogram class (163 pounds), will face Augusto Midana of Guinea-Bissau in the first round. The quarterfinals and semifinals also will take place in the morning, while the medal round is slated to start at 2 p.m.

Burroughs was a two-time national champion for Nebraska. But since winning at the NCAAs in 2011, Burroughs has been virtually unstoppable on the international stage, winning world championships in 2011, 2013 and 2015 along with gold at the 2012 Olympics.

He breezed through the London Games, dropping one round and surrendering six points overall. He defeated Irans Sadegh Goudarzi 1-0, 1-0 to take gold.

I feel like Im a much better wrestler than I was four years ago, Burroughs said before leaving for Rio. Ive prepared in areas where I was weak in 2012. Its not going to be any easier (winning gold again). I just feel more prepared.

Nebraska coach Mark Manning is serving as a U.S. Olympic freestyle coach and as a personal coach to Burroughs.

Burroughs appearance marks the 11th time a former Husker wrestler has competed in the Olympics. Former Huskers have collected six medals, including golds from Burroughs four years ago and Rulon Gardner in 2000.

Former Loper seeks medal

UNK graduate and two-time NCAA Division II national champion Tervel Dlagnev wraps up his wrestling career Saturday by competing for the U.S. in the 125-kg (275 pounds) division.

Dlagnev will retire after this weekend as he has accepted an assistant coaching position at Ohio State.

Dlagnev is aiming to pick up his first Olympic medal. Four years ago, he won his first two matches before losing to the eventual gold-medal winner. Dlagnev finished fifth. He also finished with bronze at the 2009 and 2014 world championships.

Favorites in Dlagnevs weight class include Irans Komeil Ghasemi, Turkeys Taha Akgul, Azerbaijans Jamaladdin Magomedov and Russian Bilyal Makhov.

Maroulis first place is first for U.S.

It took a moment for Helen Maroulis accomplishment to sink in.

The American defeated Japans Saori Yoshida 4-1 in the 53-kilogram freestyle final to win the first gold medal for a U.S. womens wrestler and derail Yoshidas quest for a fourth straight gold. It evoked memories of Gardners victory over three-time gold medalist Aleksandr Karelin at the 2000 Olympics.

Maroulis celebrated Thursdays win by leaping into coach Valentin Kalikas arms, then running around the mat in a circle and gripping the American flag with both hands while it was draped over her back.

Yoshida was trying to become the second woman to win four Olympic golds in a single event across four Summer Games, and the second wrestler to win four Olympic golds.

Maroulis fell behind 1-0, but a takedown early in the second period gave her the lead for good.

Ive dreamed of this my whole life, Maroulis said. I put it on this pedestal.

Gawker.com will shut down next week

[News] FTW - Gawker dot com is no more!

Gawker.com, pioneering web publication and the brainchild of Nick Denton, will be shut down as of next week, according to Gawker itself. The closure of the site comes after Univisions winning bid for the Gawker Media company, which was forced into bankruptcy following a successful lawsuit by Terry Bollea (Hulk Hogan) funded by Silicon Valley investor Peter Thiel.

Univisions bid still faces final approval from a New York bankruptcy court, but is worth $135 million. Gawker founder Denton informed staff of the closure Thursday, but the site says plans for its archives have not yet been finalized.

Gawker was launched in 2002 by former Financial Times journalist Nick Denton, along with then-editor Elizabeth Spiers. It began life as an online gossip news publication focused on New York, but later widenedits focus to the broader media industry and celebrity culture in general.

In 2012, then editor A.J Daulerio published a short video clip of Hulk Hogan having s*x with Heather Clem, the wife of a friend. Gawker refused to take down the clip upon receiving a cease-and-desist form Hogans lawyer, which would ultimately result in the suit. Financial support for that suit, among others against Gawker.com, was provided by Thiel, who defended his role in the legal proceedings in a New York Times editorial earlier this week. TechCrunchs Kate Conger and Anthony Ha offered some cogentcounterarguments.

Univisions offer for Gawker Media spanned all seven of its media properties, including Gawker.com. Univision plans to continue operatingthe remaining websites, according to a new press release from the media company, which include Jezebel, Gizmodo, Deadspin, Lifehacker, Kotaku, io9 and Jalopnik, andDenton provided a statement to Recode following new of Univisions successful bid which suggests theyll continue operations:

Gawker Media Group has agreed this evening to sell our business and popular brands to Univision, one of Americas largest media companies that is rapidly assembling the leading digital media group for millennial and multicultural audiences. I am pleased that our employees are protected and will continue their work under new ownership disentangled from the legal campaign against the company. We could not have picked an acquirer more devoted to vibrant journalism.

Update: Denton tells staff that Gawker.com archives will remain accessible even though Monday will be its last day of active posting. He also confirms what many suspected, that he will also be departing after the sale to Univision closes. He also says no one has been willing to take on continuing operation of Gawker.com in terms of prospective investors or media companies.

Ex-NFL Star Darren Sharper Gets 18 Years In Prison For Serial Rape

Rumor Report | Darren Sharper pleads guilty to rape charges - The Breakfast Club

In February, Milazzo rejected a proposed plea deal that carried a nine-year prison sentence for the five-time NFL Pro Bowl defensive back, calling it too lenient given the seriousness of all the allegations against him.

The revised plea agreement allowed Milazzo to consider allegations made by 16 purported victims of Sharpers sexual violence, some of which did not result in formal charges.

Sharpers 14-year career in the NFL included stints with the Green Bay Packers and the Minnesota Vikings. He was working as an NFL Network analyst when women began to allege that they had blacked out while drinking with him and woke up to find they had been sexually abused.

He was charged in Louisiana with drugging three women with the intent of raping them in 2013.

Milazzo agreed in June to delay Sharpers sentencing so prosecutors could evaluate his cooperation in the cases of two co-defendants accused of participating in the Louisiana incidents.

Team U.S. women"s 4x100 relay disqualified after Allyson Felix is ELBOWED by Brazilian

Allyson Felix and Team USA Runners Play Online Game "QWOP" | GQ

In one of the strangest sights ever seen on an Olympic race track, the U.S. women"s 4x100 relay team were given a second shot at qualifying in Rio after dropping their baton in their earlier qualifying heat on Thursday.

Team USA petitioned for a re-run after Allyson Felix claimed a Brazilian sprinter elbowed her as she was making a baton pass to teammate English Gardner on the third leg.

The IAAF sided with the Americans, and just after 7pm the four athletes wandered back out onto the race track to re-take their positions.

On your marks, get set, go... against no-one!Tianna Bartoletta lines up for the start of an unprecedented replay relay race in which Team USA ran against nobody

Ghost track! The US women"s 4x100 relay team ran against no-one else this evening after they were granted the chance to rerun their heat following a baton drop

Morolake Akinosun of the USA crosses the finish line after completing a re-run of the women"s 4 x 100m Relay

It was one of the most unsual sights at these Olympic Games with just the Americans taking part in a relay race held just for them

Despite the USA being the only team on the track, the final changeover was still a little iffy

It was a surreal moment at Olympic Stadium as the United States" 4x100m relay team qualified for Friday"s final with no one else on the track

Tianna Bartoletta, English Gardner, Morolake Akinosun and Felix finished the re-run in a time of 41.77sec the fastest time overall to bump China from the field

They were the only athletes on the track at the time, making it a truly bizarre sight.

Their only goal was to beat the time set by the the Chinese who were the slowest to qualify with 42.70.

The team retook their places in lane 2 of the track, the exact same lane they were places earlier in the day.

In the end, the team won comfortably with a time of 41.77, despite a difficult final changeover.

Morolake Akinosun of Team USA crosses the finish line after completing the teams re-run

At times, it looked more like a public practice session than an Olympic race

"I"m very relieved," said Felix afterward. "I just wasn"t sure how a situation like that played out. I have never been in that situation before, but I am happy that we got a shot at it."

However some have suggested their fastest-qualifying time was helped by the fact there was nobody else out on the track.

There was a truly mixed reaction from the crowd in the stands having witnessed one of the most unusual things seen at these Olympic Games.

Earlier in the day, video showed the moment that Brazilian sprinter Kauiza Venancio encroached on Team USA"s lane.

Tianna Bartoletta, English Gardner, Allyson Felix and Morolake Akinosun were clearly delighted at being given the opportunity to re-run their qualifying race

There would have been no excuses this time around had there been any mistakes!

Although her feet did not cross the line, but her arms swung well into Felix"s lane.

That split-second intrusion caused Felix to miss her opportunity to hand-off to Gardner, and in a last-ditch effort she threw the baton at her teammate and it fell on the ground - an immediate disqualification.

Knowing that they had a chance to protest the race if they finished, Felix picked up the baton and made Gardner continue running. The Americans finished dead last, but by finishing they were allowed to petition for a review.

After the race, Felix explained to reporters what she felt as she was making the pass.

"I just felt contact and it tripped me up," Felix said.

The relief on the women"s faces was clear to see after being given a second chance at gold

Allyson Felix, English Gardner and Morolake Akinosun made their way around the track to greet their fourth team member after completing the race

The U.S. women"s 4x100 relay team were initially disqualified from running in the final after dropping the baton in their qualifying heat on Thursday

The Americans earned the right to re-run the race after Allyson Felix complained that a Brazilian sprinter elbowed her as she was handing off the baton

In the re-run they had to beat the time set by eighth-place qualifier China (42.70) in order to earn a spot in the final on Friday

After dropping the baton, Felix picked up the baton and made her teammate English Gardner carry on the race so that they could have the right to petition a review

When the baton fell, Felix was clearly angry, yelling and even pushing her teammate Gardner in frustration

This is Felix"s last chance for gold at these Olympics, after losing the 400-meter race to a Bahamian runner her dove over the finish line to secure first place

Brazilian sprinter Kauiza Venancio (left) is the runner who elbowed Felix. The Brazilian team has since been disqualified

The American women had been heavily favored to pick up gold in the 4x100 relay.

Felix was part of the four-person team that set a world and Olympic record in the 4x100 at the London games in 2012. That team ran the race in 40.82 seconds.

This is Felix"s last chance for gold at the Olympics, after placing second in the 400-meter dash thanks to a Bahamian runner who made a controversial dive over the finish line to secure gold.

It was less dramatic in the men"s 4x100 qualifying heats on Thursday, with the U.S. easily winning their heat and running the fastest time of all the qualifiers with a 37.65 finish.

But it will be a very different race come Friday, when Usain Bolt joins his relay team. He has helped the Jamaican team take home gold in the event in the past two Olympics.

In order to petition the IAAF, runner must finish their race, so Felix had Gardner continue the race

Gardner jets down the third leg of the race after the botched hand off

Felix was very clearly frustrated when her team finished dead last due to the tampered hand-off

The American women have been heavily favored to pick up gold in the 4x100 relay

Twitter users were shocked to see the baton drop, and rallied for the American team to be reinstated
