More Than 300 Volunteers Search for Lost Tennessee Toddler in Brutal Cold

VIDEO: Chester County Sheriff gives updates on Noah Chamberlin search

Transcript for More Than 300 Volunteers Search for Lost Tennessee Toddler in Brutal Cold

Tonight, our weather team is following a major storm brewing that could bring more than a foot of snow by the end of the week. Here is one of the possible tracks. Major cities including Washington, D.C., philly, new York, Boston, all bracing for a possible hit. Rob has much more on that in a moment. But first booeshgs in the middle of a deep freeze from the south to the mid-atlantic to the northeast, and in one Tennessee town, it is hampering the search for one toddler, now missing for days. Here"s ABC"s Linzie Janis. Reporter: Tonight, hundreds of searchers braving brutal cold, combing the woods for any sign of 2-year-old Noah Chamberlin, now missing for a sixth day in rugged terrain west of Nashville. People have just been praying that this child will miraculously be okay. Reporter: The toddler vanished on Thursday afternoon while on a hiking trip with his grandmother. Conditions so cold, authorities only allowing people to search for an hour at a time. Officials say the search will go on, but there"s snow and sleet on the way. That snow already hitting Omaha, Nebraska, making striving near impossible. Meanwhile, two-thirds of the country tonight shivering in bone-chilling cold. This morning in Chicago, it was 2 below and felt like negative 13. At those temperatures, frostbite can set on exposed skin in just 30 minutes. David, tonight, drivers behind me face a chilly commute home, but it could turn into a very snowy commute later on this week, with a major snowstorm in the forecast. David? So, let"s get to that storm. Linzie, thank you. And rob Mars yab kciano is here. Reporter: Let"s talk about the storm that"s going to hit Tennessee, with winter weather, winter storm warnings posted for the Ohio and Mississippi river confluence there with six to eight inches potentially. But a slick go from St. Louis to Nashville. Now, to that storm that is plowing through the west. A lot of energy with it. It"s going to get over the rockies and by Thursday, it"s overlouisiana. Taps moisture from the gulf of Mexico. It moves north into colder air, here is one of the possible tracks. Hits the atlantic on Saturday morning. I think the heaviest snow looks to be Baltimore, D.C., back through the Carolinas. Over a foot of snow there, but it is early in the game. Boston and New York still in play. The tracks can always shift. Rob, thank you.

Here"s Why PBS" New Show "Mercy Street" Will Never Be the Next "Downton Abbey"

MERCY STREET | Coming in January | PBS

As Downton Abbey goes off-air, PBS is hoping their new show Mercy Street would fill the void. At first glance, the two shows look very similar to each other. Its a PBS thing to present beautiful costumes and great characters. Theres also romance, issues of feminism, as well as intrigue with this new show. As what The Guardian described it, the two programs are cut from the same cloth.

However, there are a few reasons why Mercy Street wont be the next Dowton Abbey. Lets not forget that Mercy Street deals more about the civil war. Even its creator David Zabel knows the audience for the new show will be males. On the other hand, Downton has female audience because it hits the sweet spot.

Also Read: PBS HOST DECLARES AN END OVER DISCUSSION ON BEN AFFLECK SCAM

Its the networks first American-produced drama in a decade. It premieres on Sunday, January 17 at 10p.m. on PBS. Mercy Street actually refers to a road leading to Mansion House, a hotel in Alexandria, Virginia. Its a hotel where soldiers hurt as much as they did on the battleground. It was turned into a hospital for soldiers during the civil war.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who plays as Mary Phinney, said the comedy in the show is sort of unexpected like that of Downton. Theres certainly a lot of heavier subject matter on our show. But there are machinations that youll want to follow or want to root for or the opposite so in that sense there are similarities.

Mercy Street actually has a feel of PBS docudrama. Lisa Wolfinger, one of the creators of the show, said she was looking for a way to tell a Civil War story from a fresh vantage point after the sesquicentennial. I realized there was a great story about the medical side of the Civil War, about the doctors and nurses, she added. As it goes, Mercy Street may be a perfect follow-up to Downton Abbey but the twos plot are poles apart.

SALT LAKE CITY A movie filmed right here in Salt Lake City enjoyed a tremendous surge of popularity when it premiered, and 10 years later East High School is still feeling the impact of "High School Musical."

The Disney movie starring Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale was a smash hit when it debuted in January 2006, and Thursday FOX 13 News Danica Lawrence was at the campus in Salt Lake City as they celebrated the 10 year anniversary of the film.

While it has a decadesince the movie premiered, fans still come by the school to tour the shooting location.

We"ve seen High School Musical, so we just kind of wanted to tour the school, said Emma Lefavor.

Emma and her sisters, Kate and Sophie, walked through the Wildcats campus, where they saw their favorite pink locker, which belonged to the character Sharpay.

Whitney Watchman, assistant principal at East High School, said they are proud of their schools place in film history.

I will come after a football game, and there will be like eight or nine girls at the doors kind of peering in, and Ill let them in, and they"ll think that they just have the keys to the kingdom, Watchman said.

Ro Malaga was an assistant choreographer and principaldancer who worked on all three of the "High School Musical" films.

I can"t believe that it"s still popular! Malaga said Thursday.

Malaga said walking the halls of East High brought back years of memories for him.

It"s incredible that [director] Kenny Ortega"s vision of it being that generation"s "Grease" has passed on and has taken a life of its own, and not just to the Utah community, but also just a worldwide community, Malaga said.

While touring the gymnasium from the famous musical number Were All in this Together, Malaga showed FOX 13 News Danica Lawrence some of the dance moves. See the video aboveto see Danica learning her steps.

If you make the rounds of the campus, dont forget the bookstore, where High School Musical T-shirts are still on sale.

Tila Tequila Just Might Be The Greatest Philosopher Of Our Generation

Tila Tequila: MK Ultra Programming Malfunction
You could use a vacation.

Enter to win your dream cruise.

I have an apology to make. I might have been a little too quick to judge Tila Tequila and her Twitter rampage yesterday. I used words like insane and cray cray. But you know who else was called crazy? Einstein. Newton. Darwin.

What Im trying to say is Tila Tequila is the new Copernicus.

Consider her theory on time.Time doesnt exist. Time is a social construct. We are all slaves to the social construct.Yep.

This is subversive and cutting edge on so many levels.

What is the leafness of a leaf? The macaroni-ness of a macaroni? We give objects names and supply meaning, but that does not define what they are.

Who makes up any of the rules? Is there a higher power at work? What are we?!Evidence that wormholes do exist.Pretty sure thats along the lines of what Ghandi was saying.Ghandi said that too.

Sometimes, true genius is not of this world. Sometimes, brilliant theories come from unlikely places, like Mars.

All Im saying is we shouldnt dismiss Tila too quickly.

You wont want to be on the wrong side of this one in case it comes out that the world is, in fact, flat, and we are all lizard people, which, to be honest, isnt that hard to believe in a place like Los Angeles.

Sean Penn Says Mexico Government Wants to Make Him Cartel Target

Sean Penn Had Secret Meeting With "El Chapo" Guzman

Actor Sean Penn said the Mexican governments assertions that his interview with Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman led them to the fugitive drug kingpin are false and intended to make him a potential cartel target.

In an interview scheduled to air Sunday on CBSs "60 Minutes," Penn emphasized that Guzmans eventual capture took place far from the site of their meeting. Penn said his interviewwith Guzman was a failure because he wanted it to start a conversation about the war on drugs.

"I have a regret that the entire discussion about this article ignores its purpose, which was to contribute to this discussion about the policy in the war on drugs," Penn said, according to a transcript of the interview with Charlie Rose. "Let me be clear. My article has failed."

Eduardo Sanchez, the spokesman for Mexico President Enrique Pena Nieto, declined to comment on Penns assertion about the Mexican governments intentions.

Green Bay Packers" Mike McCarthy: "Can"t tell you how proud I am" of Giants ...

2015 Green Bay Packers | Road to Super Bowl 50 | NFL

Ben McAdoo is undoubtedly a Mike McCarthy guy.

And McCarthy, the Green Bay Packers" head coach, could not be more thrilled his former assistant is set to become the Giants" head coach, saying McAdoo"s promotion is "no surprise."

"I"m very happy for Ben and Toni (McAdoo"s wife), to be in this position and the opportunity that is in front of them," McCarthy told reporters in Green Bay on Thursday as his team prepares for Saturday"s playoff game at the Arizona Cardinals.

"I can"t tell you how proud I am of him, and just the job he"s done over the years. He"s definitely ready, and deserving."

McCarthy and McAdoo first met in 2003 when McCarthy, then the New Orleans Saints" offensive coordinator, gave McAdoo a phone interview for a quality control position. The story has become well known.

PLUS: Tom Coughlin made right decision to pass on Eagles

What changes will Ben McAdoo make as Giants head coachAs McAdoo is introduced to the media, that"s what I want to hear. How will he be different than Tom Coughlin.

Here it is from a 2013 Star-Ledger feature after McAdoo was hired as Giants offensive coordinator:

Mike McCarthy made a cold call to McAdoo during that season at Fairfield to interview him for a quality control opening with the Saints. McCarthy had been the offensive coordinator there for two years at that point. He was from the Pittsburgh area like Ben. He could trust him.

After the talk, McCarthy hung up and went back to work at the scouting combine in Indianapolis. McAdoo, without notifying a soul, jumped into his car and drove 12 hours across the fattest part of three different states to meet the coach in person the next morning. McAdoo didn"t sleep to begin with; the only sunlight came during practice, but it didn"t matter.

"He filled his car up with gas, and I come walking through the lobby I never met Ben and he"s sitting there with a bag of playbooks and a suit coat on," McCarthy said, laughing. "A great first impression."

McCarthy would hire McAdoo with the Saints in 2004. When McCarthy moved to the San Francisco 49ers in 2005, McAdoo eventually followed after a detour at Stanford. McAdoo then followed McCarthy to Green Bay, coaching tight ends and then quarterbacks, before jumping to the Giants. And now, McAdoo himself is a head coach.

John Krasinski: Sitting at Leonardo DiCaprio"s Golden Globes Table Made Me ...

How John Krasinski Got Jacked

One is the loneliest number for John Krasinski. The newly beefed-up actor had an uncomfortable time at the 73rd annual Golden Globes on January 10, despite getting the best seat in the house.

Krasinski, 36, went to the awards show alone, because his wife, Emily Blunt, was on location shooting a movie.

"It turns out when you go stag, they put you at a great table," the 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi actor told Ellen DeGeneres on Friday, January 15. "I was at Leonardo DiCaprio"s table. And that sounds really cool except I didn"t get a chance to meet him, and I didn"t want to be like, "Hey man, I"m the guy who doesn"t have anybody!""

The seating arrangement turned out to be problematic when DiCaprio, 41, and the rest of his table started winning major awards for their work on The Revenant.

"Then they won everything, so I"m in the middle of hugs," Krasinski quipped of his awkward situation. "People are like, "This is the best year ever!" And I"m like, "Wasn"t it?!" When they went up and gave their speech, I felt pretty stupid."

The Office alum even had a funny exchange with director Alejandro GonzalezIrritu, who picked up the Best Director and Best Motion Picture Drama awards for the night.

Amber Alert: Teach your kids about staying safe

Amber Alert

A stock image of a police officer.(Photo: Getty Images/iStockphoto)

Wednesday marks 20 years since the Texasabduction andmurder of 9-year-old Amber Hagermaninspired the creation of the national Amber Alert system, a program that helpsto quickly find abducted children.

Children abducted by non-family members with homicidal intent are often killed within one hour to one day after being abducted, according to the Pennsylvania State Police. So time is crucial in finding missing or abducted children.

The state police helped develop the system in the commonwealth. Designated members are responsible for issuing the alerts, which come with specific criteria that the police developed with the media.

An abductee must be under 18 years old and believed to be in imminent danger of death or serious injury. Additional criteria include the availability of descriptive information, time since the child was last seen and the reliability of witnesses, according to the state police.

When the abduction satisfies the requirements, the state police sendsout a statewide alert to law enforcement and the statewide public alert system.

Tips

It"s very important for parents to talk to their children about situational awareness and staying safe, saidCarl Lindquist, county spokesman and father to two, with another child coming soon.

"It"s something that as parents in the hustle and bustle of everyday life seems easy to overlook," he said, but added that these conversations canmake a "crucial difference."

He said at around 8 or 10, children oftenplay outside without supervision in the yard, where an unknown adult could approach them.

"Teach children that unfamiliar adults should never need help from a child not to find a lost animal or for anything else," Lindquist said in a news release. "Children should consider such a request to be a warning sign that prompts them to seek out a parent or trusted adult."

When out and about, children are more safe in groups, according to a York County tips sheet, and neighborhoods can help plan these groups. And, online, adults should be sure to monitor children"ssocial media activity to be sure they aren"t providing location or other personal information.

Smart 911

York County unveiled its Smart911 systeman AT&T Mobility National AccountsLLCsubscription that costs $99,000 per year and ispaid for through fees levied by the state on telephones offers another level of assistance for locating missing or abducted children, Lindquist said.

The service allows York County residents to upload profile information to Smart911.com so that when an emergency call is dispatched first responders will have necessary information, including current photographs, at their fingertips.

"Having a child go missing can be terrifying you may not be able to think straight, remember critical information or even communicate effectively," said York County Commissioner Chris Reilly in a news release. "Smart911 can have a dramatic impact on these situations. We encourage families to be proactive about safety and sign up today."

Oscar Nominations 2016 Snubs and Surprises, Stats, and Winner Picks (Analysis)

2016 Oscar Nominations! - CineFix Now

Thu Jan 14 12:55:53 EST 2016

New Regency"s "The Revenant" led the lily-white field with 12 nominations, followed by George Miller"s "Mad Max: Fury Road" with 10. Also: why Tom Hardy was in and Ridley Scott was out.

00000152-4079-db9a-a77a-7c7d81ce0000

I always go to the live announcement of the Academy Award nominations at the AMPAS headquarters on Wilshire at the crack of dawn because I want the packet that lays out the stats. We know that Twentieth Century Fox had a good day: "The Revenant" led the field with 12 nominations, more than expected, because they landed a surprise nod for first-time nominee and Supporting ActorTom Hardy (a sign of strength) along with every possible technical category. (Arguably, the actors branch rewarded Hardy for his amazing year, including "Mad Max" and "Legend"). Altogether with "The Martian" (seven), "Joy" (for 25-year-old Jennifer Lawrence, the youngest actress ever with four noms), and Fox Searchlight"s "Brooklyn" (three) and "Youth" (one), the studio nabbed an astonishing 24 nominations. While Fox handled foreign territories, Disney managed the domestic release of "Bridge of Spies" (producer Steven Spielberg"s ninth nomination), with six nominations including Picture, as well as "Star Wars: Force Awakens" (five), Pixar"s "Inside Out," (two), and animated short "Sanjay"s Super Team," for a studio total of fifteen.

Tom Hardy in "Mad Max: Fury Road"

Warner Bros." "Mad Max: Fury Road" scored its expected10 nominations including Best Picture and Director. (Distributor Warners can also claim Supporting Actor frontrunnerSylvester Stallone for MGM/New Line"s"Creed.")But the duel of the titans between Miller and fellow septuagenarian Ridley Scott was not to be. Although "The Martian" landed seven nominations, including Best Actor Matt Damon, Best Picture and Adapted Screenplay, there wasnothing for Scott, who will have to hope for a DGAwin.

Photo by Aidan Monaghan - courtesy of Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation

This is as dramatic an omissionas Ben Affleck"s directing snub for "Argo," which led to that film"s underdog status and eventual Best Picture win. The Academy directors are a snobbygroup, and seem to have given the directors who also write (whether credited or not) the advantage: George Miller ("Fury Road"),Adam McKay ("The Big Short"), Lenny Abrahamson ("Room"), Tom McCarthy ("Spotlight") and last year"s "Birdman" winnerA.G.Irritu("The Revenant"). Scott is one of the great technical directors working todaywith classic films behind him, from "Blade Runner" to Best Picture-winner "Gladiator"but he"s not an articulate spokesman for his movies, nor does he identify as an artisthe"s more of a commercial studio player for hire, proud of his advertising experience, who delivered on"The Martian" as everything fell into place. (He is nominated as a producer for "The Martian.") While Fox has turned the narrative of "The Revenant" into a story of an artist"s triumph against formidable odds, they weren"t ableto give"The Martian" that same cred. Only twice in Oscar history has a director won twice in a row: John Ford ("The Grapes of Wrath," 1941, and "How Green Was My Valley," 1942) and Joseph L. Mankiewicz ("A Letter to Three Wives," 1950, "All About Eve," 1951). Will the entire Academy go for Irritu? In a year when Best Picture and Director could split, I"m betting Australian auteur Miller wins this one for his long career, from the original "Mad Max" through Best Picture nominee "Babe," Animated Oscar winner "Happy Feet," and now the superbly crafted and executed action spectacle "Fury Road." Does the genre count against him? Well, that"s why it might not win Best Picture.

Indie Best Picture contenders "Brooklyn" (three, Searchlight), "Room" (four, A24, which also got four nominations for "Ex Machina" and handled doc frontrunner "Amy") and "Spotlight" (six, Open Road) prove yet again that voterpassion and appreciation forskillcan also triumph overscale. Alas,"Carol" didn"t make the cut (six, The Weinstein Co., which also notched three for "The Hateful Eight").

"Brooklyn" star Saoirse Ronan (her second nomination, after "Atonement") will compete against first-timer Brie Larson in "Room," who should win for her layered performance as a kidnapped mother trapped in a shed with her five-year-old son. "45 Years" veteran Charlotte Rampling slipped into Best Actress without SAG, BAFTA or Golden Globe nominations, no mean feat; it"s her first nomination. The Academy actors often make room for a respected European thespian like Juliette Binoche or Marion Cotillard.

The Weinstein Company "Carol"

Supporting Actress is harder to call: will "Carol" star Rooney Mara (her second nomination, after "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo") beat first-timer Alicia Vikander in "The Danish Girl" (four, Focus Features)? Or will respected Golden Globe winner Kate Winslet, who was nominated for Universal"s "Steve Jobs" along with Michael Fassbender, carry the day? (Winslet took home the Oscarfor "The Reader.") "Steve Jobs"failed to land any other nominations, not even Adapted Screenplay for Oscar perennial Aaron Sorkin, which was a surprise. Clearly its strongest support came from actors. Both "Carol" and "The Danish Girl" could score some craft wins; Sandy Powell, with the most nominations for a living costume designer with 12, could win for "Carol," if she doesn"t split the vote with "Cinderella."

Lionsgate grabbed three tech nominations for "Sicario," including Roger Deakins, earning his 13th nomination, the most for any cinematographerhe has never won. He competes with "The Hateful Eight" cinematographer Bob Richardson, who was not nominated by his guild, for his stunning Ultra-Panavision photography. His director Quentin Tarantino did not wind up with an Original Screenplay nomination, but veteran Ennio Morricone, with an Honorary Oscar, is the favorite to win Best Original Score over "Stars Wars" veteran John Williams, with a record 45 nominations for score, not to mention five songs! No other living person has logged more nominations, and historically, only Walt Disney beats him, with 59.

As usual, the British had a good day, with41 nominations for films and/or talent from the UKa third of the nominations.Film 4 backed "Room" and "Ex Machina" (A24), "Carol" (TWC), "45 Years" (IFC"s Sundance Selects) and "Youth" (Fox Searchlight"), which landed no acting love but a Best Original Song nod. And the BFI Fund supported both "45 Years" and "Brooklyn."Which movie has momentum at this stage? Sometimes being the frontrunner is a negative, as small-scale "Spotlight," with backing from actors, directors, writers and editors, has to hang on to voter goodwill against two late-inning releases with box office surges behind them, Paramount"s sharp political comedy "The Big Short" and frontier epic "The Revenant," which boasts a surefire Best Actor win for Leonardo DiCaprio, getting a boost for suffering for his art. Can"The Revenant" win Best Picture? That Alejandro Gonzlez Irritu"s "Birdman" won last year counts against itbut gave New Regency backer Arnon Milchan (Best Picture contender "L.A. Confidential") a reason to support the filmmaker with his first big-budget production, to the tune of $135 million. With that money, Irritugranted cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki ("The Tree of Life," "Gravity") unusual latitude to pursue the best light for the best shot, no matter what the cost in stress for the crew or the financial bottom line. Lubezki could win his third Oscar in a row. If "Spotlight" and "The Big Short" have support from the same quarter, then "The Revenant" could take home the statuette.

One unfortunate narrative is 2016 Oscar voters"lily-white selections. Yet again, as last year, among the actors there were no people of color, as Idris Elba did not land an expected supporting nomination for Netflix"s "Beasts of No Nation," which was shut out. (Netflix continues to dominate the doc category, with "Winter on Fire" and "What Happened, Miss Simone?") The one nomination for Ryan Coogler"s "Creed" was for Sylvester Stallone, reprising his role as Rocky Balboa, while "Straight Outta Compton" scored only aScreenplay nod (for its four white writers), butno Best Picture slot. With only eight nominees versus the PGA"s list of ten, "Compton"did not make the cut.

Nor did global blockbuster"Star Wars: The Force Awakens," which scored five technical nods including VFX and Score, or animated feature "Inside Out," which will handily win its category, if not Original Screenplay, which should go to "Spotlight."

Yes, this year"s Oscar show boasts plenty of popularcompetitors to draw viewers. Just not ones that reflect the world we live in.

NBA scores 2016: Spurs triumph in opening round of NBA"s power struggle

NBA Recap Cleveland Cavaliers vs San Antonio Spurs | January 14, 2016 | Highlights

San Antonio convincingly beat Cleveland at home in a month that will feature matchups between the NBA"s three foremost contenders.

Ring the bell, sound the alarm, notify the press. The San Antonio Spurs have just landed the first successful blow in a three-way contender"s battle that will define this NBA season.

The Spurs" 99-95 win against the Cleveland Cavaliers on their home floor Thursday was the first of three upcoming meeting between the NBA"s three true contenders in the next 11 days, a list made up of those two and the NBA"s best Golden State Warriors. All three teamswill play each other in January, starting with San Antonio"s surprisingly dominant extermination of Cleveland.

The Cavaliers won just one quarter, the first one, but they won it big, holding a 32-20 lead after the opening 12-minute salvos were exchanged. After that, San Antonio turned the game into a steady grind, slowing climbing back into the action before finally charging ahead with a strong push to begin the final frame. After that, they didn"t give up the lead again.

Tony Parker, the biggest question mark coming into the year for San Antonio, continues to make us wish we"d never doubted him. He dropped 24 points on 18 shots on Thursday, continuing a fantastic season in the smallest role San Antonio has asked him to play yet. He"s still crucial, of course, make no mistake, but there"s plenty others who can step in when Parker doesn"t have it, just like a retro performance from the French blur like Thursday"s can cover up others" inequities. Against Cleveland, Parker was making up for LaMarcus Aldridge, who only scored six points on seven shots. The old Aldridge would be mortified by such a performance, as would we, but facing some fabulous Tristan Thompson defense, the Spurs" chances weren"t harmed by a team-first Aldridge taking a backseat. That"s the Spursian way, one that has never been easier to implement with this stacked roster.

The only exception is Kawhi Leonard, who has graduated from his place as a rotating star and taken on the burden of nightly expectations that used to be Tim Duncan"s. Nobody"s filling in for Leonard, but nobody needs to. On Thursday, Leonard had an evening just like any other: 20 points on 14 shots, 10 rebounds, five assists and the smothering, asphyxiating defense that still makes our eyes pop sometimes even after seeing it for years now. Most of it was directly at LeBron James" expense, but he didn"t even need to be guarding him directly to get in The King"s head -- all while recovering to abuse poor Richard Jefferson anyway.

Welcome to the new Spurs, which are basically the old Spurs except deeper and scarier than ever. I mean, Gregg Popovich got 13 points from David West in Thursday"s win. He played Jonathon Simmons nine minutes and Kyle Anderson five! Eleven-man rotations don"t typically make appearances in games like this, not with the playoff atmosphere of the AT&T Center that still hasn"t seen a loss this season, but Popovich used it like it was the most normal thing in the world.

The Spurs will meet the Cavaliers in Cleveland on Jan. 30 and there"s a great chance we"ll see a different result. While there"s other teams that could factor into the race for the Larry O"Brien trophy -- the Thunder, mostly, but it"s still a bit early to rule out the Clippers or Bulls -- we"re all pretty sure it"s going to be either these two or the Warriors still standing at the end of it. And while Golden State"s still lurking on the sidelines, it was San Antonio that just landed a convincing punch.

3 things we learnedJimmy Butler decided to score 53 on one leg

Butler was going to sit this game out. It was just the Philadelphia 76ers that Chicago was playing, after all, the NBA"s worst team. But Butler doesn"t like to sit, especially since he has a bet with a trainer that he was going to play all 82 games this year. And so, as the Bulls decidedto practically disintegrate around him, Butler started scoring and really never stopped. After Philadelphia took their first 20-point lead of the season, Butler just about single-handedly forced overtime, scoring 51 in regulation before E"Twaun Moore"s seven points took Chicago home in overtime. (Wait, what the h**l did I just type.) What a showing from Butler, with dunks and and-one jumpers and so, so many free throws helping him tie Stephen Curry for the top scoring output in the NBA this year.

Let"s pour one out for the Detroit Pistons

In December,Matt Barnes pulled up for half-court shot with multiple seconds left in the game with Memphis down two. His coach was screaming for a timeout. His teammates were yelling for a better shot. It went in anyway, because f*** it, he"s Matt Barnes and that"s just the weird things that happen when you"re Matt Barnes. The Grizzlies won.

So yeah, if I"m the Pistons, that"s at least a sore wound. Really a buzzkill way to lose a game. And then on Thursday, Memphis saw that, pulled up in a fire truck and hosed down the wound with hydrogen peroxide with this finish right here.

Mario Chalmers with the fading, falling game winner

What a night in the NBA because we"re not even going to get to Stephen Curry, who hit eight triples, giving him more games with that many threes in his last 72 games than Ray Allen has in his career. Nor will we touch on a pretty fun Raptors win against Orlando that also went to overtime. Why aren"t we going to touch on those?Because Rudy Gay won the d**n game for Sacramento.

Beating Utah is pretty important in the Kings" push for the Western Conference"s eighth seed, so props to Sacramento. They"re just a game out now!

Play of the night

Tony Parker, capping off his sensational night with this absurd move.

4 fun things

Tristan Thompson"s 15-foot free throwwent about, uh, 12 feet?

Jonas Valanciunas is straddling the line between aggressive inbounds defense and ... I don"t even know. Please, I"m a poor, underappreciated millennial and I don"t understand the jokes people keep making about this and now the Suns" owner is probably going to yell at me.

Jerry West wants to euthanize Kobe Bryant.Well, OK, something like that.

We also got another Pop-Craig Sager interview, which are always delightful:

The image has so far been shared more than 10,000 times following the announcement of Golden Globe winner Rickman"s death earlier today.

It sparked a flurry of responses from fans, many of whom posted their own defiant messages on Twitter

His secret battle with the disease was revealed just days after it emerged Bowie had kept his own liver cancer fight private before passing away on Sunday.

A picture of Rickman sticking his middle finger up on the set of 1999 film Dogma was posted alongside similar ones of Bowie and Motrhead frontman Lemmy, who died 48 hours after being told he had an aggressive form of cancer.

The heavy metal icon had celebrated his 70th birthday just four days earlier.

The image was tweeted by the music website Gigwise.

It sparked a flurry of responses from fans, many of whom posted their own defiant messages.

One, using the Twitter @rocky-styles, posted: "f*** cancer", while Jessica Humphreys wrote: "Brilliant. Heart, broken."

Another user tweeted: "It"s ridiculous find a cure."

In the wake of the deaths of both Alan Rickman and David Bowie this week, cancer charities have said that as people live longer, deaths from the disease will rise.

John Newlands, senior Macmillan cancer information nurse said: "We"re very sad to hear the news about Alan Rickman and David Bowie. Our thoughts are with their family and friends.

"Sadly the number of people with cancer in the UK is growing rapidly and half of us will face a cancer diagnosis at some point in our lives.

"But the reality is also that more people than ever before are living much longer with cancer.

"It has never been more important that everyone gets the emotional, practical, physical and financial support they need throughout their experience of cancer.

"Macmillan offers a range of support for anyone affected by cancer including through our website or free support line."

In the wake of the deaths of both Alan Rickman and David Bowie this week, cancer charities have said that as people live longer, deaths from the disease will rise. Cancer Research UK also tweeted their condolences

Cancer Research UK said that more than four in ten cancer cases could be prevented through a change in lifestyle.

Dr Claire Knight, Cancer Research UK"s health information manager, said: "An increasing number of people are being diagnosed with cancer, mainly because the disease is more common as we get older and we"re all living much longer than we used to.

"Around 160,900 people die from cancer each year in the UK, but the good news is that research, earlier diagnosis and better treatments have helped to double survival over the last 40 years.

"More than four in ten cases of cancer in the UK could be prevented largely through lifestyle changes.

"Not smoking, keeping a healthy weight, enjoying a healthy balanced diet and cutting back on alcohol can all help lower the risk of developing cancer - they"re not a guarantee you won"t develop cancer, but they help stack the odds in your favour."

Jakarta Attacks: At Least 4 Dead in Gun and Bomb Attacks in Indonesian Capital

At least four people, including a policeman, are dead after militants carried out a series of apparently coordinated gun and bomb attacks in the heart of the Indonesian capital of Jakarta.

Authorities fear the toll will rise.

There have so far been no claims of responsibility, but one analyst likened the timed attacks to the Paris massacre where ISIS struck several locations at the same time.

The attack is the first major one in Jakarta since the 2009 simultaneous attacks on the J.W. Marriott and Ritz Carlton hotels, which killed seven.

With the operation to contain the attackers still going on, several things were unclear: Exactly how many gunmen were involved, and how many locations they struck.

Embassy advisory

The U.S. Embassy in Jakarta asked Americans to stay away from the area, saying the situation continues to unfold.

One of the targets of the Thursday attacks was a police station, next to a busy shopping center, the Sarinah Thamrin Plaza.

Gunmen used grenades and engaged in a firefight with officers, Indonesian National Police spokesman Anton Charliyan said.

The dead comprised of an officer and three civilians, police said.

A Starbucks coffee shop in the nearby Skyline Building appeared to have been another target. The windows of the cafe had been blown out.

Amateur video, posted on Twitter, appears to have caught one of the explosions outside the shop.

Ongoing situation

Police poured into the Skyline Building, looking for other gunmen.

You couldnt get much more central in Jakarta if you tried. Its basically right smack dab in the central business area, said Jeremy Douglas, who works in the U.N. Office on Drugs and Crime, located in the area.

If you wanted to make an impact, and get visibility for what youre trying to do, this is the place to do it.

Christian Hubel, a witness, told CNN he and his colleagues heard five or six explosions in succession. Their office building was locked down.

It looks like the whole street, the whole location is still locked down. Nobodys moving to the scene, he said. A lot of police, rescue cars are parked there. But nobodys moving, so it seems as if its still going on.

Echoes of Paris

CNN security analyst Bob Baer, said the attack bears the signature of ISIS.

It sounds like the Paris attack to me, Baer said. A lot of these fighters are getting combat experience in Iraq and Syria, many of whom have experience handling and detonating explosives, he said.

Indonesia is the most populous Muslim country in the world but it has a secular government. That has made it a ripe target for extremists. And ISIS high-profile extremism has gained it a small following there.

The biggest worry is Indonesians fighting in Syria and Iraq will return home with the training and combat experience

In recent weeks, police have been on high alert, while military operations focus on hitting the East Indonesian Mujahadeen, which has pledged support for ISIS.

On Thursday, Indonesian President Joko Widodo said the nation will remain unbowed after the attacks.

We should not be afraid and defeated by acts of terror like this, he said.

Ratings: "Pretty Little Liars" Strong, "Shadowhunters" Premiere Solid in ...

Shadowhunters - 7 Minute Sneak Peak

ABC Family officially transitioned to Freeform on Tuesday night with continued strong ratings for the winter premiere of Pretty Little Liars and a promising start for new drama Shadowhunters, which seemed to benefit from facing the wall-to-wall coverage of the State of the Union on the broadcast networks in much of the country.

The network will release live plus-3 estimates next week, but in same-night Nielsen estimates, Pretty Little Liars opened things for Freeform as the nights No. 1 cable program in adults 18-49 (1.06 rating), up a bit from last years midseason premiere (0.95). Its 2.25 million total viewers was also up vs. last year (2.01 million). The show, which fast-forwarded its storyline by five years, had finished last summers season especially strong, hitting a nearly two-year high in 18-49 (1.39) and a 19-month high in total viewers (3.12 million).

Liars stood as Tuesdays No. 1 telecast in adults 18-34 (963,000/1.4 rating), women 18-34 (758,000/2.2 rating), viewers 12-34 (1.45 million/1.6 rating) and females 12-34 (1.20 million/2.6 rating).
