Xbox One"s Summer Update: What"s New?

If you"ve signed onto your Xbox One any time since Saturday, you"ve probably noticed something is different. Pretty different. That"s right, the summer update that was previewed last month went live over the weekend. Preview members were already enjoying features of the update and everything is now live for the general public. In addition to the Xbox One update, there are a couple new Windows 10 and iOS/Android features helping you connect all your devices.Xbox One

Background Music: Todays update brings the ability for the highly requested feature of Background Music, which lets you listen to your favorite music in the background while gaming on Xbox One. The Pandora app, launching soon, is the first of many partners who will support Background Music, with Groove Music, iHeartRadio and other apps coming later.

Cortana on Xbox One: Cortana is now available on Xbox One in the U.S. and U.K. With Cortana, gamers can expect more from voice commands on Xbox. In addition to more commands and greater accuracy with natural language and text dictation, Cortana provides the ability to use a headset or Kinect. Youll be able to use Cortana to find great new games, see what your friends are up to, start a party, accomplish common tasks, turn on your Xbox One if youre using Kinect, and more. Well continue to build more Cortana features over time as part of our vision to have Cortana be your personal digital assistant for gaming.

Improved Game Collection: Weve updated the Game Collection interface to make it faster and easier to find and launch the games youre looking for. Now youll be able to sort, manage and see more of your Game Collection easily, quickly access your own Ready to Install tab, update your games or apps using the new Updates tab, and get more information about titles in your queue.

Language Region Independence: Based on overwhelming fan feedback, weve enabled Language Region Independence to give gamers even more control over their Xbox experience. Language Region Independence allows you to choose any supported language on Xbox One, regardless of the location. For example, if youre in the U.S. and move to Germany, you can now keep your language set to English on Xbox One and enjoy your experiences in English.
Xbox and Windows Store convergence: Were starting to combine the best of the Xbox Store and Windows Store to give gamers a single cohesive experience across their devices. On Xbox One, weve streamlined the shopping experience to help you find the games you love faster and at the best prices. Youll be able to filter search results by genre, read reviews written by fellow gamers including those voted most helpful by the Xbox Live community easily recognize what titles are on sale with strikethrough pricing in lists, and more. Weve also added several new channels to help you discover the content you love even faster.

On the Windows Store, were adding support so gamers can soon browse and purchase bundles, episodic games, season passes, virtual currency and other game add-ons and DLC. You can also redeem Xbox tokens, subscriptions, games or DLC through the Windows Store. And developers can make their games available for pre-order/pre-download so you can buy a game any time before it launches, play it right when it comes out, and you wont be billed for your purchase until shortly before the title launches. This fall, the store integration makes Xbox Play Anywhere possible, so when you buy supported digital games, you can play on both Windows 10 and Xbox One at no extra cost.

Facebook Friend Finder: Now on the Xbox One, connect your Facebook account to your Xbox Live account to find your Xbox playing Facebook Friends. You only need to connect your account once via Facebook Login; if youve already gone through the steps on the Xbox app for Windows 10, iOS or Android, then youre all set! Otherwise, now you have the option to log into your Facebook account from your Xbox One, making it easier to find more people to play games and have fun with.

Improved sharing on Xbox One: Weve made it easier to share your screenshots, GameDVR clips, and achievements on Xbox One. Gamers can now share their most epic clips and screenshots with the community right from home. Weve also updated the Activity Feed settings so you can now decide what will get automatically shared to your feed.

Xbox App and Windows 10 PC Gaming

Top Windows 10 PC games show up on Xbox Live: Were bringing the top Windows 10 PC games like League of Legends and XCOM 2 together with the Xbox Live community. Meaning, your favorite Windows 10 PC games will have their own Game Hubs on Xbox Live. Whether youre on your PC, Xbox One, or mobile phone, youll be able to see what PC games your friends are playing, share your own PC gaming clips and screenshots with the community, and message your friends on Xbox Live. On both Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs, youll also be able to party chat with your friends no matter what theyre doing.

60 fps game clip recording with the Game Bar: Using the new Very High video quality setting in the Xbox app, you will be able to record your game clips in up to 60 frames per second from the Game Bar (Windows + G) once the Windows 10 Anniversary Update starts to roll out on Aug. 2.

Windows Game Bar improved full-screen support: One of the most common requests we see for the Windows 10 GameDVR feature is the ability to use the Windows Game Bar with more games running in full-screen. Weve added support for six additional games in full-screen mode with Windows Game Bar: League of Legends, World of Warcraft, DOTA 2, Battlefield 4, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, and Diablo III. With those games, once the Windows 10 Anniversary Update starts to roll out on Aug. 2, youll be able to use Windows + G to bring up the Windows Game Bar when the game is running full-screen.

Xbox App on Mobile

Xbox app on iOS and Android: Announced and released during E3, the Xbox app is now available on iOS and Android. The Xbox app brings together your friends, games and accomplishments across all of your devices. Now, you can stay connected to the Xbox Live community, see what your friends are playing, share game clips and screenshots, and view achievements through the Xbox app on Windows 10, iOS and Android devices.

According to Ybarra, this is the last big update we can expect until holiday 2016 when we will see the addition of features shown off at E3 like Looking for Group (LFG), Clubs and the eSports-centered Arena feature.

Shannen Doherty Reveals Cancer May Have Spread, She"s Fearful of Future

Shannen Doherty has unveiled scary new details about her battle against breast cancer.

The 45-year-old, who was diagnosed with the disease in February 2015, revealed that her cancer may have spread in a new interview with "Entertainment Tonight."

"I had breast cancer that spread to the lymph nodes, and from one of my surgeries we discovered that some of the cancer cells might have actually gone out of the lymph nodes," she said. "So for that reason, we are doing chemo, and then after chemo, I"ll do radiation."

The former "Beverly Hills, 90210" star also revealed she underwent a single mastectomy in May. While she is doing everything within her power to fight the illness, she admits certain worries nag her.

"The unknown is always the scariest part," she admitted. "Is the chemo going to work? Is the radiation going to work?" she continued. "Everything else is manageable. Pain is manageable, you know, living without a breast is manageable. It"s the worry of your future and how your future is going to affect the people that you love."

Doherty praised her loved ones, who have become a crucial support system during her health scare. She recalled how husband Kurt Iswarienko was always at her side during post-chemo treatments.

"I am in bed and it is a rush to the bathroom," said. "It"s, you know, you"re throwing up every single second. After my first treatment I lost 10 pounds, instantly. You"re throwing up and the last thing you want to do is be in a car. You don"t want to be moved, you can"t eat. But my husband has to, you know, pick me up. He puts me in the car, he buckles me in, and he drives me to my oncologist and they hook me up to an IV and I get hydrated...There"s nothing going in my body, it"s all going out."

Likewise, Doherty"s mother Rosa Doherty has stood alongside her daughter every step of the way during her illness. When the star decided to shave her head and document the process via Instagram, her mother was there to assist her.

"It was just shedding and it was driving me crazy," Doherty said of her post-chemo hair loss. "It was just clumps, and I was like, "Just grab the kitchen scissors." And my mom"s like, "Wait, wait, wait." I"m just, like, "Grab it." She went and grabbed the kitchen scissors, and put it in a ponytail and she just chopped it off. And it was this cute little bob, but it wasn"t enough, you know, it was falling out."

Though her decision to post shots of her shaving her head were in part fueled by her desire to control how the manner in which her new look was presented to the public, she also did it in a show of solidarity with other individuals suffering from cancer.

"I wanted to put it out there the way it felt the best for me to put it out there," she said. "And also, if I could help one person then it makes me go, "Oh OK." It"s easier to live with having cancer if I know I"m helping at least one person."

Misty Copeland is now a married woman.

The barrier-breaking ballerina tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend,Olu Evans, this weekend at the Montage Hotel in Laguna Beach, California.

According toE!, it was a small and intimate wedding with 100 guests. The beautiful bride wore an Inbal Dror gown and Louboutin shoes. They reportedly said their I dos in the midst of pink hydrangeas and white roses.

Misty opened up about her wedding plans in Vanity Fairlast October:

Id like to show my figure, somewhat romantic and elegant. I dont think I want to go super poofy or anything like that, she said. Its very different for a performer, a ballerina, someone who is on stage a lot and wears big costumes. So its not like this is my chance to be that way, because thats something I do every day, almost. I want to feel like myself but more beautiful than I do every day.

Rays send lefty pitcher Matt Moore to the Giants

The Tampa Bay Rays sent left-handed starter Matt Moore to the San Francisco Giants

Moore has a 7-7 record with a 4.08 ERA in 21 starts this year.

Moore, 27, is two seasons removed from Tommy John surgery. In April 2014, Moore tore a ligament in his left elbow, and missed the 2014 season. He returned July 2, 2015.

Moore has struck out 109 batters in 130 innings this season.

Moore is arbitration eligible for next season despite signing a five-year deal worth $14 million deal with the Rays in December of 2011.

You Will Be Able to Party to Frank Ocean"s Long-Awaited New Album This Weekend

When Frank Ocean"s debut album Channel Orange was released in 2012, the 24-year-old singer and songwriter was hailed as a once-in-a-generation talent. Both a critical and commercialsmash, the smooth-sounding album of futuristicR&B was nominated for six Grammys, winning for best urban contemporary album. Frank Ocean had arrived. Fans couldn"t wait to see what this fresh new voice would do next. Four years later, they"re still waiting.

Now, it appears Ocean"s musical hibernation is nearing its end. For real this time. According to a report in The New York Times, Ocean"ssophomore album, Boys Don"t Cry, is set to be released on Friday. It will come via an exclusive deal with Apple Music, which is expected to last two weeks before the album is made available on other streaming services.

Though the news seems reliable, it"s hard for fans to get too excited without actually being able to pump new Frank Ocean music through their headphones. While some artists may step out of the limelightcompletely, Ocean has been teasing the new release for years. The yet-to-be-released album"s website features an image of a library slip with multiple since-passed due dates and the name Boys Don"t Cryat the bottom.

It"s not as if Ocean doesn"t realize his fans have been waiting. Hopefully, this latest in a long line of hopeful news items concerning the album"s release won"t result in another due date stamped on the library card. If it does, then we should at least be able to fine him.
