Toen de jongen even later in haar klas belandde, ging ze toch voor de bijl.
In september miste de jongen plots om onverklaarbare reden een les. Vera maakte zich zodanig zorgen dat ze hem prompt haar telefoonnummer gaf. Ze ging hem ook thuis oppikken, in de wagen volgde de eerste kus. Niet veel later doken ze een eerste keer tussen de lakens. "We hadden bijna dagelijks seks bij mij thuis, we hielden van elkaar", klinkt het in de gerechtelijke documenten.

Als hij bleef overnachten, bracht zij hem de volgende ochtend weer naar huis zodat hij de bus naar school kon halen. In januari ontdekte Vera plots dat ze zwanger was. Een maand later liet ze een abortus uitvoeren omdat leden van de kinderbescherming haar lastige vragen waren komen stellen.
"Ze was een coole leerkracht, van haar mochten we zelfs onze gsm"s gebruiken tijdens de les", vertelden medeleerlingen. Volgens haar buren zaten er soms vijf jonge tieners tegelijk in haar huis. "Maar die ene jongen was er bijna altijd. Tegen ons zei ze dat het haar broer was."

In haar verklaring staat voorts nog dat de familie van de jongen op de hoogte zou geweest zijn van hun relatie. "Ze hadden er geen probleem mee, ik was telkens welkom op hun familiebijeenkomsten. En zelfs toen ze hoorden dat ik zwanger was, bleven ze achter ons staan. Ze keken vol spanning uit naar de komst van de baby."
Volgens haar Facebookpagina heeft Vera al een vijfjarige dochter. Toen de politie naar haar woonst in Spring trok, opende iemand anders de deur. Hij bleek niet te weten waar ze nu verblijft. "Vera is de dochter van een in opspraak geraakte agent", vertelt een bron aan Heavy.com. "In 2011 werd hij ontslagen."

Jaime Vera werd in mei 2008 al eens zestig dagen geschorst vanwege een "ruzie met zijn vrouw". Als hij vanaf dan nog n klein foutje maakte, zou hij ontslagen worden. Montgomery County police say the woman who committed a bank robbery Saturday in Bethesda is a suspect in two Washington, D.C., bank robberies that occurred earlier last week.
Police said the robbery happened at about 12:50 p.m. at the Wells Fargo Bank at 4965 Elm St. The woman approached a teller and passed a note demanding money, police said, before receiving an undisclosed amount of cash and leaving.
Surveillance camera images show a suspect who looks similar to the suspect in a May 23 robbery of a Bank of America branch in the 4300 block of 49th Street Northwest and a May 27 attempted bank robbery of a Wells Fargo branch in the 5200 block of MacArthur Boulevard, according to police.
Metropolitan Police described the suspect as a black woman in her 20s with a medium build. In the May 27 robbery, she appears to be wearing a wig of straight black hair with bangs covering her forehead.
In the Bethesda robbery, the suspect is wearing glasses and a plaid shirt.
Police asked anyone with information about the suspects identity to contact the departments Major Crimes Division. Tipsters who provide information that leads to the arrest or indictment of the suspect could receive a cash reward of up to $10,000.

Game One of the Stanley Cup finals was held on Monday, May 30, at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh. The Pittsburgh Penguins took home the first win of the series, beating the San Jose Sharks 3-2. The teams meet again on Wednesday, June 1 for Game Two.
Approximately 2,000 tickets were sold for the first two games of the Stanley Cup Final with the lowest-priced seats for Game One listed from $255 to $331. For Game Three on Saturday, June 4, the series moves to the SAP Center in San Jose, where tickets have been listed for up to $920.
