Marks & Spencer and Ikea are recalling food products as they may be a possible health risk to allergy sufferers.

Food halls of the retail giant are recalling 2 Skipjack Tuna Fishcakes packs because the presence of egg is not mentioned on the label.

This means the product is a possible risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg.

Product details:

Product: Marks and Spencer 2 Skipjack Tuna Fishcakes

"Use by" dates: July 2, 2016, July 3, 2016 and July 6, 2016

If you have bought the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to egg, do not eat it. Instead return it to the nearest Marks and Spencer store for a full refund.

Marks and Spencer is recalling the affected products from customers and has issued a product recall notice to be displayed on their website. The company has also contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members of the recall.

Furniture store Ikea has meanwhile, recalled two chocolate products amid allergy fears.

Product details:

Product: Choklad Mork 60 per cent and Choklad Mork 70 per cent

The products have been incorrectly labelled, which means they pose a risk to anyone who has a milk or hazelnut intolerance or allergy.

Any customer affected by the recall - which includes all best before dates - is urged to take the product back to an IKEA store for a full refund.

The company"s recall notice states: "IKEA wants customers who have bought dark chocolate Choklad Mork 60 per cent and Choklad Mork 70 per cent, to be informed that the presence of milk and hazelnuts is insufficiently declared on the product packaging.

"Safety is our highest priority and while these products are safe for anyone not allergic to milk or hazelnuts, people allergic to milk or hazelnuts may experience an allergic reaction if eating the product.

For more information call 0203 645 0010. A receipt is not required when returning the products to the store.
